Also, I'd love to participate in some swaps -- blocks or scraps themselves.

Me too. I think it would be fun to do some 6 1/2" blocks to swap. There are several easy patterns to use up scraps for that size block. Here are a couple of other 6 1/2" blocks that I have done for a swap. And some pics of scrappy quilts I have done.

Love to see the renewed interest..I laugh at my quilt buddy...she buys a kit for a log cabin that uses 1 3/4" logs...I dig through my scraps..

I have several projects from scraps happening. Just finished a pastel/yellow flying geese flimsy that's about 10 x 14 as well as a mini medallion type quilt with 4p that finish at 1/2" in the center.

Then there's the red project with left over triangles, and my "time to commit" quilt..oh don't ask....long story...meanwhile I'm trying to keep up with the 365 day challenge quilt from down under using my scraps first (blue, tans and bbgum pinks)...

I put the final border on a 74 x 74 quilt I call "crazy ponies" and finished a scrap HST top that was a guild challenge...I paired top, batting, backing and binding for 5 or 6 scrap quilts...must finish a couple of the tops, then get into a quilting mindset. Never a dull moment at my house.

Scrap organization can take on many meanings...laughed at myself when I zip lock bagged 3/4" strips into separate colors...? my sanity now....

Love those quilts, javin! Especially the maple leaf. That's on my to-do list.

What a fun way to scrapbust! When finished with a project and I don't really want to look at the fabric anymore, I cut the remainder into 2.5" strips and add to my strip drawer!

sunrise - my great aunt was a writer and she wrote a book about her growing up years. she said her grandmother insisted they memorize that saying you have in your signature LOL

Oh my! It was my grandmother that gave me that saying also! Such a good memory.

I'm in. Probably not for the swaps however due to postage. But that might change at some point as well. Thanks for the revised puzzle.
Here is a quilt method I've been working on. Finished one and am about half-way through another. This is a great way to use up longer strips.

You don't need her fancy rulers to cut into triangles. Missouri Star Quilts has a tutorial to cut using regular square rulers -- just search for "tube quilt".

as I am reading through the posts from earlier I though I would bring some of the fun scrappy ideas forward. What do you think is that a good idea or should I just reference the post number? I love this one. It looks so charming and cheerful.

Hi everyone, I am seriously interested in swapping these little lodge pole pine tree blocks with others that I posted above. If anyone is interested can you please let me know or post here so we can see if there are 4 interested? Thanks so much

Rhonda 03-28-2016 09:00 PM

Wow you guys have been busy since I was here last LOL Love to see the interest. It was my wish to get people together to have fun with scraps and I was a bit bummed when it stalled out after awhile. but we all get busy with our lives. I am really glad to see you all enjoying the thread.

So - Swaps!! I am willing to put them together with whoever is interested.

the only thing I ask is please let me know if you can't follow through.

The ideas so far for swaps are:

1. Pine Tree blocks
2. 6 1/2" easy quilt blocks
3. Scraps - could be limited by the type of envelope or zip lock used.
or limited to color/type of fabric as in batik or cw etc

If anyone is interested in signing up for one let me know by pm.
I would prefer you just send to each other rather than send to me but I'm flexible.

Any thoughts anyone??

LOL G I will never be as organized as you are!! Wish I was as motivated as you and I don't have a farm to work!!

Would love to have you post some of your projects here! Always love seeing your work! You know I totally understand the time it takes to make the minis you make. or should I say micro minis?? that's what I call my teeny tinies. Tho I don't normally go as small as you do anymore. When I did the teeny stuff I did it by hand. since using the machine I go as low as 1" for my keychains and squares. I think that ends up 1/2" not sure.

Glad to see you again Javin I love your quilts and blocks! I especially like that maple leaf quilt!

I don't make big quilts but I really appreciate those who do! I did years ago but haven't done anything larger than 20" for many years now. I'll stick to my minis LOL
