Ok TRF and nana I added you both to the list above. Hope you enjoy this month!!

BonniFeltz 10-26-2011 04:43 AM

I would love to join in this month but can't. I have too much on my plate right now but will be following so when the family decides to stay healthy long enough and after the holidays, I can join in again. :) I'm looking forward to seeing all the blocks.

QuilterMomma 10-26-2011 05:15 AM

Let me give it another try here. I will do November.

PokerDiva 10-26-2011 09:00 AM

Rhonda, I am not going to officially sign up this month but if you end up with an odd man out I will do that one. OK, did that makes sense?

Rhonda 10-26-2011 09:32 AM

I am thinking of suspending the swap for Dec. If anyone still would like to do Dec let me know. If there are a few who would still like to I will post the swap. Otherwise we will resume for January.

thanks for offering PD and yes I understand what you mean. I appreciate it!

mom-6 10-27-2011 07:07 AM

Sorry to have to sit out this month again, but too much else going on. My sewing for now is in the costuming arena - one cape finished, a second started, a medieval dress about half done and a second just have fabric for (been waiting a couple years for me to find the right pattern).

klgreene 10-29-2011 10:31 AM

Boy I have been a bit behind on this board....I thought I checked everyday for this...but must have missed it. Of Course Rhonda.....I am in!! And I will do what ever anyone wants to do in Dec.

I just know I'm going to miss so much on this board...but I did find this so I know who my partner is. I'll be contacting you Cheryl. And don't we get emails anymore when a watched thread is posted????

klgreene 11-01-2011 06:22 PM

Ok, this is not fun. Everyone is going to have to clean out their PM sent/received boxes in order to get and send new messages. I couldn't get ahold of Cheryl, your box is full. :(

You have to subscribe to the ones you want to see and then go to Quick Links up above and the first link in that menu is subscribed threads. This would have been Watched Topics on the other site. You can to to Forum Actions up above and then to General Settings and you can set it to email you.

sgardner 11-02-2011 12:46 PM

Wow, try to come to the site and it's all new and confusing! Took me a while to find this. Maybe I am being anal today, but I don't like change, or at least not this one. Maybe I will come to see the advantages of it, but some warning a change was going to happen would have been nice.

I'm hoping it's not to late to sign up for this month's exchange- it's ok if I wait a few days to see if someone else joins to find out who my partner will be.

You can "subscribe" to a thread: it's under "Thread Tools", "Subscribe", and then it gives you 3 options for Notification type by email: instant, daily or weekly.

I can be your partner Shelley if you want or we can wait a bit. PokerDiva said she would join in if I needed one more. So whatever you would like to do is fine with me.

We can give it a day or so to see if someone else joins and will need a partner before tapping into you or PokerDiva.

Rhonda, if you still need somebody to swap and they are willing to post to Ireland I can do it.

I'm having the exact same problem!

Ok, figured it out.
First, start a comment normally. Then, hit the blue "Go Advanced" button.
That resets the window with your unposted message and below it will now be "Additional Options". Look for the blue "Manage Attachments" button- press that.
A new window will pop up on top of your comment window, and it will say "Upload files from your computer" (or from the internet) and you search for where it is on your computer. Then hit "Upload".

Here's the tricky part- this webpage now has a file size limit- the resolution my camera takes is too big for this webpage, so I had to open it in a photo-editor (Microsoft Office Picture Manager, Edit photo: I had to both compress it and resize it so it was smaller!)

You will either get a message showing that your file uploaded, or a fail message. I kept getting a fail message until I took the above steps to shrink it. Once you get the message it's been uploaded, close that smaller pop up window, and finish editing your text, and then hit "Submit Reply".

Let me know if you have any more problems, it took me a bit to figure this out too!!!

klgreene 11-05-2011 05:58 PM

We'll give it a try....I either have 12 pictures on here or none at all. It didn't tell me I needed to make them smaller, opps, said it failed.... I don't know about this...I feel sorry for the people who don't know much about computers. I've been on computers since 1982 so I am computer literate.

klgreene 11-05-2011 06:16 PM

I'll try again-failed again. And I don't want to have to resize anything, Facebook, my email, they all take my size of picture, so this site should too. I'll try tomorrow, because I have one I want to post on this thread and also on Rhonda's BOW....They should have changed over slowly. So people could follow along. I know how to resize, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't. I did web pages 10-15 years ago where you have to type in every http://www in order to get to the next page. I also want to follow Rhonda's EQ class because I have EQ7, just haven't sat down long enough to get my money's worth from it. At this point, the only thing I want from this site :)

Hey now you can't abandon my quilt block swap!! LOL You gotta be here to encourage everyone and to share your lovely quilt blocks!

Rhonda 11-05-2011 06:52 PM

To post a picture

1. Click on Go Advanced (below and to the right of the comment box)
2. New window pops up
3. Scroll down in the new comment window til you see manage attachments - click on it
4. New window pops up -
5. Click on browse and find your picture on your computer
6. Click upload when you are done uploading pictures
7. Click on close this window
8. You are returned to the previous window where you will see your pics listed
9. Click on submit reply

You should see your picture load. the limits on the picture sizes are quite generous. I posted this picture Katie had posted on a previous swap to show that her picture which was Katie's original posted pic was 600 x 450 pixels jpeg and it is 52.8 KB. the limits are shown in the manage attachments window. Jpeg is up to 1.91 MBs and all but two of the file types are that size allowed. The other two are 5.72. So the pic I posted of Katie's is about a forth of the allowed size if I understand KBs and MBs.

Your picture should post Katie. Make sure you are doing all the steps.

klgreene 11-05-2011 08:17 PM

Peevypat's Nov. block I made for her

Lets see if this made it. It's my block for Peevypat.

Going to try again to post PeevyPats block from me. I think I did it, but had to resize it. Any way Pat I hope you like your block.

klgreene 11-06-2011 08:41 AM

Geeze that made it bigger. I'll keep working on it every picture I post. I'll try the weekly Catherine now.

Rhonda 11-06-2011 10:05 AM

Well Katie you can sure see an up close and personal view of your fabrics! Nice to be able to see the prints. It is of course a great looking quilt block!

You are absolute right, and maybe we can get the administrators to talk to the people who set the settings for the programming to adjust this- on most places today, as you said, they accept the photo, and THEN adjust the resolution they need to store and display it for their website, so the front-end user doesn't need to know anything about how big the file is, what resolution it is, etc, for proper website display.

I have been at that point myself for several months. Rhonda is keeping me here.
