Welcome to my Quilt Block Swap!!

Sign up by May 7th
Mail out by May 30th
Partners assigned -May 7th

All skill levels are welcome! Beginners can do these designs!

This swap is to show you how to make my Shortcut Blocks into Quilt Blocks!!
Choose a quilt block design from my links and then make that quilt block.
You will get a partner and you and your partner will exchange quilt blocks.

You need a 2 1/2" template.
If you don't have one let me know and I will send you one for free.

Use 100% cotton --prewashed or not is up to you.
Don't use borders to make it 12 1/2".
Pm me when you receive or mail out.

After you learn to make the "Blocks" you need then you choose a Quilt Block
Then use the layout picture that is shown with the Quilt Block to see how to make your quilt block.

Hi Rhonda, a block swap is something I've been wanting to do for a long time.... but I cannot open any of the clickable links to check out your blocks. The links seem to be incomplete and all I get is an error message. Can you direct me to a workable site please?

JoAnn's shopping trip today for new fabric. Think I will go with something summery. We will have to see what jumps out at me.

I have decided to use Rhonda's Edith block.

Thanks for letting me know the links didn't work. I don't know why it is all messed up but I will have to have Patrice or a mod fix it all.

It has taken me this long to finish choosing my fabrics. lol..... I am now ready to start cutting. I have also changed my mind to a different block of Rhondas, but I thought the one I chose will work better with my fabrics.

Beautiful fabric!! What pattern are you using?

I am using the Cynthia Block of Rhonda's Tracey. I discovered some other fabric today that I'm using in place of a couple of those colors that I posted that work nicely. Similar theme though. I've begun my sewing, and have part of my units together. On some graph paper I made some color coded unit squares to check off as I get them made. I added the name of the block to keep for future reference. It may seem silly, but it helps me to track my own progress.

Ok, I finished my partner TwinRiverFarm's block. It will go out today in the mail. I didn't know a block could have so many little pieces, but it was so much fun. lol...

Received a beautiful block from Grandma Di today! Thank you!! Love the colors. I will post a picture tomorrow. I forgot to go by the PO today and our little PO is closed now on Sat's so I will go on Monday. I will let you know when I do. Sorry Grandma Di for waiting until the last minute to send. I was trying out the curves and had to restart several times, but I am happy with the out come. I'll post that picture as well tomorrow.

June 1st is my mother's birthday, so in memory of her I would like to post a few pictures. I hope you don't mind. She was older (76) and thin when she passed away, and my sweet dad is thin now. He is 80 now.

Mom picked out a pattern in a size that mom said was very big on her, because she didn't know what size she was. Her mom was very poor, and raised 10 children by herself. Mom and dad were married almost 60 years. (The quilt block I made for my partner is made from all fabric that my mother gave me shortly before she passed away, except for the green).

I hope I haven't kept anyone from posting your blocks due to my adding those pics of my mom and her quilts. I guess I was caught in the emotion of the moment. You have to over look me sometimes. lol...
