I've posted new threads with each one showing one type of Quilt block from the Sampler. I didn't include anything from any of the tutorials but you can at least see all the Bostons in one thread with the layouts. I have done all the Bostons / Kansas Dugouts/ Drunkard's Path and will have the Star Points / Wings/ and the Combination blocks done tonight and tomarrow.

I did the HSTs but didn't add the layouts. So I am going to redo that one to include the layouts so you don't have to hunt for them.

Hi Vicky K. Welcome to our group. I see that you have Rhonda this month. Can't wait to see what she does. It's a great chance to learn her blocks, etc.

Thanks for the welcome Ladies. I'm excited and nervous to be paired with Rhonda. From the little I've read on the board, I think she will be a wonderful partner.

she will be and she is good about answering questions about the blocks as well as forgiving if they aren't perfect (grins). Just take a big breath....don't forget to let it out...and pic out a block to start on. :) Don't think on them too hard because they will seem harder then.

Think of it like cleaning up a huge mess. You can't just wish the job done. You have to take it a little step at a time and accomplish one small job at a time. The Quilt Block might look intricate but it isn't hard to do if you take it one step at a time.

Find the individual "Block" and look at it. It has 3 pieces. Cut out the fabric pieces and sew them together and then cut out a square from the middle. Voila you have accomplished the first step and the first small job. Add enough of these small jobs together and the larger job will be done in no time and you will look back and think boy that was easier than I thought!! You do have to look at the one tree instead of looking at the whole forest. The whole forest can be too intimidating but the one little tree is no big deal!!

Enough cliches??? LOL

Hey Rhonda! My friend ConnieQuilts is doing two blocks for a swap and I've convinced her to do two of yours. :) I loaned her my 2.5" template and we were going through the designs the other day.

Hey, we are Rhonda's biggest fans. Since I started doing the blocks in Batiks, I think I have my plan for the quilt on my bed. All in Batiks, various blocks from your collection. I'm starting to see which ones I like the best, depending on the colors and contrast.

I remember when I figured out how to do the Drunkard's Path my way I was so excited to share what I had discovered but had noone to show it to!! so I love being able to share the things I learn!

I sent out LindaC's block today. Since it is going to Ireland it will take 6 to 10 days to get to her. If she'd like me to post a picture I will, but if she wants to be surprized, you guys have to wait.

Shelley that turned out really really nice! I like the blue batiks! I am learning to like the creams/tans. Those have never been my taste but I am stretching myself and learning to accept other colors and prints. Doing them in a larger size makes a differance in what I can use and how I view prints!

That's because some of the fabrics are the same- the light brown, dark blue.

LOL I know, but they are pretty colors. And I'm going to have to get some of that light brown.

You gals are speedy this month and I'm way behind! Of course spending the last week evacuated with only my current WIPs (which I didn't finish) could have something to do with it. Now that I'm back at my cabin & studio I just have to get things sorted out and start sewing. Amazingly there was very little if any smoke smell in there. Did have some in the RV though.

They are both terrific!! I've seen that money one before. I wanted to get some and have K3n do a OBW but when I went back to get it it was gone. Oh well but I think it would have been terrific as an OBW too!

I love the red white and blue- it would be perfect for a Quilts of Valor project.

Well DonnaK I finally figured out which fabrics I want to use for yours and think I know which block I want to do. Now if I can just settle myself down and get busy on it.

It's been really slow on this thread this month. Everyone getting ready for winter. I'm ready, do the same thing all year round. Just Quilt. Looking forward to seeing everyones Sept. Block yet.
