I love the drama of black in a block. One of my favorite wall hangings is the scrappy black and white blocks with red sashing that I made in early winter.

Love this block! It is one of my favorite designs. You did a fantastic job on this TwinRiverFarms! I love the colors and the prints.

I received two lovely blocks from Klgreene (Katie). These are beautiful. Really fresh looking. This is my first time on the swap and Katie has been very encouraging. She also sent me a lovely card, some hair bobbins to use to cover my sewing bobbins to keep the threads tidy on them (great idea) and a brilliant map of the United States so that I can mark where my blocks are being sent from and she even put a sticker on her town on the map (another brilliant idea). Katie is not just a wonderfully talented quilter but a brilliant thinker as well. Here are the photos of the lovely blocks. I have Katie's block nearly finished (family stuff caused a delay).

Love it. It's funny how we can do the same block and it comes out totally different because of the color choices. I am amazed at how new and fresh that looks, but I've done that one before, so it should be more familiar.

That's the joy of quilting; even old patterns can look new just by the choice of fabrics used.

Thank you Linda you were more than gracious about my blocks. I just hope you enjoy them and continue with our swap. We do have fun. And we learn as we do these blocks too.

Sorry folks I have been busy with my DGS Zach.

I have to bring the activity page up to date and I am almost done with that. I will have the sign up thread ready in a few mins.

He has obsessions because of the autism and one of his obsessions is going to McD's which is 15 mins from us or Arby's which is 30 mins from us. Papa likes to take him out to eat so we asked him earlier if he wanted to go to McD's for lunch. He surprised us by saying No I want to stay here and draw! He loves the quiet here away from his brother and sister and their loud play.

So I asked him a few mins later if he wanted to go to Arby's he jumped up and said SURE!! so we got ready to go. We got about 3 miles from home and he announced he did't want to go to Arby's but McD's! Surprising because nothing usually comes before Arby's!!

So we took him to McD's (did it yesterday too!) and then to a local park he calls CastlePark because it has a brown fence all around and has turrets for the kids to climb in and tunnels all seasoned brown wood. and it is quite large. It used to be a school playground and covers the whole playground area. So he had a good day.

But I had to interrupt working on the activity page to go to town. So now I am back and working on it!

I received LindaC's swap block from Ireland today. Wonderful block, and she sent some goodies with her block. Some hot chocolate from Ireland, post cards and some fabric. She went over and above. Great partner!

I love them all!! I find it so interesting to see how people choose colors to put together. Not always my cup of tea but they all are great contrast and everyone has done a great job on them!! I like seeing the color combinations I wouldn't use. It shows me how others think. If I stay in my own little rut I won't stretch and learn anything new!!
