Rhonda's Second Wall Hanging Swap
Welcome!! This is our Second Wall Hanging Swap! Here is how the Swap works! You have 4 months to make a wall hanging of your choice. All techniques are allowed. Sign up any time you like - there is no deadline to sign up As long as you have a wall hanging ready to mail by Feb 28 you can join us any time! On Feb 28th I will send an address to each quilter You will then send your wall hanging to the quilter who's address you get. You will not have a partner. You won't know who is sending to you til you get it in the mail. Please Post Pics of: (Not required but this would be great) Fabric you are going to use or thinking of using Embellishments you are using Progress pictures would be nice!! I would like to see some sharing of ideas and conversation along the way!! That is the really fun part!! Requirements: 100% Cotton Prewashing or not is up to you Sign up: Just post on the thread if you are willing to enter a wall hanging. If this is your first time in the swap please pm me with your address and if you can send international or not. Size and Type of Quilt Block: A wall hanging should be smaller than a lap quilt but larger than a mug rug. You can use any technique and any style any colors. Embellishments are a fun way to add to your wall hanging if you like I hope you decide to join us and have a lot of fun!! Natch, here I am signing up again....lol...Now please know that this next wall hanging may or may not reflect the fact that my dh is having surgery on his achilles on Nov 8th...and will be in a cast and non-weight bearing and off of work for at least 6 weeks...:shock:...Just a lil heads up all!!!! I was thinking of doing some crazy quilt blocks..but not intending the "pun" that it may turn out to be! LOL...

My Dh had surgery on his and ankle fused in April. Keep up on the drugs so you can handle him. Lots of ice should be on hand, good elevation, and the bathroom close by and you should be fine. Have fun! Remember, we sometimes quilt to escape the hassles of life we need to go thru. :o

OK! Sign me up, too. I am having surgery on my left thumb, but can't til January. I will be extra smart and have it done before then.

it's great to see old friends and new ones, too!! whoo hoo! i will start this one in november! i'm working feverishly tonight trying to get one done for tomorrow's mail ( the 1st wall hanging that is). i foolishly thought it would go a lot faster than it is.....my bad!:o no problem, persistence will save the day ( and my bacon!) lol

Good morning friends!
I worked in my sewing corner last night while we watched the Debate. DH didn't mind the humming of the sewing machine much! He said a few times that they were making more racket that I was, hehe! I am working on peicing a 40 block Lady Fingers (looks like tulips to me) quilt to fit our queen size bed. I have 30 already peiced, working on peicing 5 now with 5 more to cut out and piece. Think today for lunch I will go to the Fabric Shoppe here in little Springfield, TN and get material for the boarders. I did go though my stash and patterns for this swap and have found it!! Think this will be the project for the weekend. Enjoy your day! |

Just looked over the list and saw names that I know from either from other threads or the last swap. Welcome to all the new names. Are you like me? Now wondering what to make - should I think about a spring theme, Easter, Valentines (although that will be over). Have started looking in magazines and so far haven't gotten anywhere. But there is time. Has anyone decided on something?

I may have to experiment on this wall hanging. I have some strips that need to be used up and I love Bargellos, hmm, could I make them work. Also saw another idea that was cool but in a circle. I think I could pull it off, but if to nice, would have to enter it into a quilt show so I then would have to make another one. LOL

Ok, here's my idea. Ican do another cat wallhanging with different cats, and smaller. Or, i can do one with the flower Dogs. Same designer. Open to suggestions and preferences. or, i cab do something different all together.
