LV2sew2011 this is the quilt top that you should have received according to the tracking number arrived 2 days after I sent out. You can use that # and go to the United States Post Office website and it shows when I sent it and when it says it was delievered to you. If you have this quilt top "Mim's" then we are good. If not then you need to take that tracking # and go to your post office so they can open a claim for a missing package.

I received Mim's ( that would be considered the 36" round). But she requested smaller so it was about 29". I have completed my round of Mim's which would be the 4th round. Hope you like it Mim :). I put a thin grey grunge fabric for a coping strip to get it to 30.5" to add the paper pieced border. I tried to pick up the gold and green tones since there was already a lot of blue and purple. I love how it turned out.

Such a pleasure to work on this quilt top! The hand sewn seams in the center block are superb! The little red stars in the 2nd round are made of diamonds, like the center was, and are machine sewn with exquisite Y-seams!

I thought on my monitor that the flying geese were black, but when I got the quilt top in person, I saw they were a navy and black print. Such a interesting addition-- so I went with a navy and black print for the outer triangles. The 3rd round used the Cranston crazy patch fabric, in which I recognized some of the companion prints that must have been produced near the same time. I know I used some in the 70's or so, and looked high and low (literally) for the beige floral print that I knew I had. But! I couldn't find it, which shows my lack of organization. :-p

I used red and black prints to reflect the red/black center, and added gray to the mix. The golden color print of the inner triangles was fabric that came with the quilt top, and I thought I should use it in this round, rather than not, because that would leave it only in the last round. Didn't want it mailed around and around for no reason! lol

I've used the same pattern as the first 4th round quilt top I sewed, which sort of seemed like cheating... but I changed the 9-patch to a different pattern, and did the corners differently with points, to sort of reflect the star shapes.

I used 19 prints to reflect the scrappiness of the crazy patch print, several Ginny Beyer ones that are my favorite types of fabric. Wish this top was mine! :-)

It is amazing to me how we can take a single block and turn it into a quilt! Everyone adds something to each one and the end result is something so unique! We have a talented bunch of quilters in this group.

Okay her goes my addition on LV2sew's quilt top this was the 5th round on this particular quilt top so next stop is back home. Will hold off to ship until Givio says to mail.

I was not quite sure on where to go with this was going to use purple but next to the beautiful floral print (which I love) it blended too much and did not want to compete with the pretty pink either . So I tried to pull out some of the colors from LV2sew's starter block. Sorry no paper piecing this was a wide border. I actually had to go buy fabric everything I had just did not work but the one teal print was in my stash but the teal weave looking fabric and background fabric is what I picked up to make it all come together. I hope you like it LV2Sew2011, I think it is pretty.
