Hi everyone in Group 5 of the new Row Robin that was just assigned. As soon as we all decide on a name for our group I will add it to here. But in the meantime please feel free to add pictures of your rows here as you work on/or complete your blocks/row.

Thanks,
Sherryl

Is anyone else as excited as me? I can hardly wait to get started. I have to admit I'm a little nervous, I just hope everybody likes their finished projects :)

Yesterday I decided to go thru my stash and see what I could come up with for my row. So this is what I settled on. Not sure yet what order I will put them but thinking maybe how I have them in the last picture.

Really like your blocks. With the two rounds robins that I've been in I didn't know what was coming. It's nice to see the rows so that you can get an idea early on how to proceed.

fayza 12-31-2010 06:49 AM

Your blocks are beautiful :)

kooshball 01-03-2011 11:39 AM

I have to say that I am totally excited to do this Row Robin. My mom is a quilter and her quilting group did one of these last year and I asked them if they would do another and no one wanted to do it. Needless to say, I did some searching online to see if I could find a group to do this with.

Yesterday I went out and got my fabric. I couldn't decide whether to go with a winter strip or spring but because Christmas is over and it was so cold the last few days I am going with Spring in hopes for warmer weather. Hopefully I will have some pictures to post soon. I plan on working more on it tonight. :D

Hi everyone! I was just poking around on the quilting board and found this thread...I'm so glad I found it! I haven't started on my blocks yet...but will be soon. I'm so excited to be a part of this group! I've never done a RR before. Happy Sewing group 5!

Well I have changed my mind one more time. I finished my first block last night for my row. I decided to go with the Christmas theme. Here is my first block I finished. It even has a hanging quilt off the building. :-)

zjsquiltymomma 01-12-2011 10:56 AM

kooshball, I really like your block. It is darling!!

That is a cute block.

Mariah 02-02-2011 11:35 AM

How did you do the blocks with the flowers inside the different areas of the block, and not have raw edges to contend with?
My first exchange on our row really likes your row, but that is my question. I don't want to start something that will be a "big mess," and having raw edges is my concern.
thanks, Mariah.

My row is finished and ready to send. (I think) LOL I'm a little unsatisfied with one of my blocks, so I may change it don't know yet...... I'll try to post pics later. My theme is sampler blocks done in all shades of greens.

Only 10 days before our first mail date.

I am not sure what you mean by raw edges?

Here is my finished row... It ended up being 15.5 by 60.5 because I didn't want to trim them down and loose portions of the houses... I am doing a little applique before it is ready for mailing but I am excited that we are only a week away.

fayza 02-07-2011 05:22 PM

I haven't been receiving messages either. I thought it was just b/c our group was a little quiet. IDK? I bookmarked this thread, makes it easier to watch :)

Samara in OH 02-08-2011 01:35 PM

I got an email that there was a message from this group,I will have to bookmark anyways. I am about half way done with my row, I hope to have it in the mail monday. I need to go to the store and buy more green fabric, I am not the crazy about the green hat I have already.

Lori Peercy 02-09-2011 04:49 PM

Your attention to detail is wonderful. I will check back to see how your rows are progressing. Hope you are having as much fun as we are. Once it got started it just snowballed, most of our quilts are having their 3rd or 4th row added this month.... here is a link to the 1930's patterns and fabrics quilt that I will be adding the 4th row to...http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-81293-26.htm
