I would like in if there is still room. I'll PM the info. Just let me know if there is an opening.
|
You are in Lisa!!
|
Welcome!...

Thanks Qbee. I'll start making a row. My theme is black, white and gray traditional blocks. I'm hoping my first row will be a faux cathedral window. We'll have to see how it goes!
I know there has been some discussion about sashings on this thread. I love the idea of leaving the rows apart so sashing can be added or sending the sashing strips along, but will happily go along with whatever my group decides. I'm in this for the fun and friendship much more than the quilt. Whatever the quilt turns out too be will be beautiful in my eyes. |
I PM'd Qbee this morning, did you get my message? I'm on the fence between making a black/off-white or batiks, certainly won't have time to keep up with two groups so will have to decide which way to go. And I'm all for not sewing the rows together, as I'll probably want to add sashing and borders when it makes its way home again. I'm looking forward to this row robin, my first!

Is it too early to post pictures? I'm checking things off my to-do left and right today :)

I can't get it to rotate at all. But the block that is on the farthest right is going to be the top block, and the one on the farthest left is the bottom block - I'm hoping to start it off vertically. But I guess I'm not 100% committed to that. But that's how I envisioned it when I was making them. |

Thanks! I have made a pretty concerted effort to stick with "new" blocks I've never done before; I've found all of them (except for the cowboy boots I just finished) on Pinterest. So far, so good.

OK, fine. Count me in. It's all TheMamaHauser's fault....but I know that she'll nag me until I get them done. ;)

If I'm able to be added to the group.... I would like my theme to be primitive angels. And here is my row if I get to join
|
I like your angels! I've never done anything like them. Seeing what theme ideas everyone comes up with is fun.
|
I have had these sitting around for a while now and thought why not use them for this. I'm not a picky person so don't the applique scare you if you've never done it before...Donna
I'm still learning too...

I loved the last Row Robin I did, so I would love to have another go at it. I sent a PM. Looking forward to coming up with a theme again. (Last time I did snowmen.)

Someone posted earlier saying they would like to see what a "finished" Row Robin looked like. Here is the snowman one I got back after the last row. The sashing was done as it was sent from person to person. I think it helped to unify the rows.

MistyMarie that is a beautiful quilt! Thanks for posting it for us, now I can know who to do my blocks!

Qbee, I thought I was on your list. I had PM'd you a few days ago. Please add me if you can. Thanks. :)

Beautiful top...I do think sending sashing would be nice. That way it can be put together as it goes, but getting rows back and adding the rows will work too...LOL

Oh thats a cute one! I love how the sashing brought it all together
|
Even more tempting now that Luv2 has come up with using what she has as a base row and then seeing that others would like to send along their sashing as we go as a group, hmmm, there looks to be a rhythum going here.
Love that snowman quilt. That would be a great way to use up some blocks I have, make a Christmas quilt for child, all while using blocks that I have in a stashed UFO pile. Hmmmm, incorporating here. It is mulling in my mind a bit yet. |
I love the snowman quilt it is stunning, I am still pondering on a theme, may have to use the snowman theme.
|
You are correct Lisa.....I have NO idea how I left you off :( Sorry about that!

Hi all,
I just signed up to be part of this R x R robin. I'm so excited. Haven't figured out my theme yet but will think on that this afternoon. The photo is of a quilt from a Row by Row robin I participated in back in '04-'05. I absolutely love this quilt! It hangs in the dining room and is the first thing one notices. It gets lots of compliments. I had sent along embroidery floss and a needle with my row/s and asked everyone to embroider their initials someplace on their row. They all loved the idea and wished they had thought of it. (Feel free to borrow the idea :-) best, d |
WOW, that did turn out beautiful. So close to signing up here knowing Whigrose is on board.

I'm still thinking over this theme. Last time I did a farm theme. I kind of like the ideal of bonnets or hats something along this way
