I think the board names on the blocks are a good idea. I think of you all by you board names.

We could always put both...
"Lisa Smith aka Lisa_wanna_b_quilter"
Oops, I guess that's what you just said!

And Maksi could just add her real name somewhere if she wanted to.

craftymainemom 02-12-2010 11:34 AM

I just sent you a pm I would love to join. I would love to have peoples board name on the block.

NorBanaquilts 02-12-2010 11:34 AM

I've added you to the list, welcome to the swap.

RatherB Quilting 02-12-2010 11:40 AM

WOW-EEEE! I have ALOT of scraps! I just went through them to see if I could muster up enough to join and now I can't fit them back into my drawer! This sounds fun! I don't have a guild, so if you all don't mind, I have sort of started thinking of you all as my guild...and a guild quilt would ROCK!
I wanna play!
:)

blueribbontoes 02-12-2010 01:07 PM

Darn it... Another cute swap. Why, oh, why?!?!

bridgeviewangus 02-12-2010 01:10 PM

I'm a little confused, it you aren't going to have each participant make one block for each person, how are you going to divide them up?

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 02-12-2010 01:11 PM

BRT, there is a conspiracy to drive you crazy with tempting swaps! :D

NorBanaquilts 02-12-2010 01:33 PM

If a person doesn't make enough to swap with the whole group they will get a random sampling of what was swapped.

NorBanaquilts 02-12-2010 01:34 PM

Come on BRT you know you want to! They're quick and easy, after the first 50 you'll be a pro!

blueribbontoes 02-12-2010 02:04 PM

Chele 02-12-2010 02:16 PM

I'll play! I should be able to make one for everyone who signs up unless you get hundreds. I guess I can get started now!

I'm starting now. I figure if there is alot of people who sign up it's easier to made a few at a time then a 100 all at once, and with the close date in May we could a ton of people signe up.

That's what I'm wanting to do! It'll be a "Quilt from around the world".

Dragonfly Nana 02-12-2010 04:23 PM

I'm with Chele.....make a few at a time, stack em up, ship em, then make a "quilt from around the world"
so cool

craftybear 02-12-2010 04:25 PM

Hi,

What type of pen do you use to sign your blocks?

Karen "Craftybear", Indiana, USA

Catlady 02-12-2010 04:27 PM

Count me in for at least 12 blocks. More if more
people sign up.
Thanks for setting this up.
Catlady

NorBanaquilts 02-12-2010 04:48 PM

These are the pens I use, any fabric pen will work.

Dragonfly Nana 02-12-2010 04:57 PM

Thanks for the link. I need pens too.

STAR 02-12-2010 05:04 PM

I want one from everyone!! I will be starting soon.

In the instructions it said 100% cotton washed, my question is that if I use scraps not all of my pieces(color) have been washed, (the white will be) is this ok??

Dragonfly Nana 02-12-2010 05:08 PM

Try putting hte scraps in a laundry bag for bras, etc (or a pillow case) and run them through the wash.

STAR 02-12-2010 05:14 PM

good idea, DUH I should have thought of that

Dragonfly Nana 02-12-2010 05:16 PM

Someone had to tell me once.... Where are you in MI? I used to live in Livonia

jewelps 02-12-2010 05:20 PM

i want to make a block for each in, i put done 12 but will change to however many people join

craftymainemom 02-12-2010 05:24 PM

For other siggy blocks that I have made I just used a fine point sharpie. he only thing is that it needs to be heat set, so after it is all dry usually the next day I iron all the blocks.
I have not had any bleed or run.

STAR 02-12-2010 05:27 PM

Holland

NorBanaquilts 02-12-2010 05:27 PM

I've tried Sharpie pens and depending on the fabric they can bleed.

You can get these pens in most craft stores like Michael's in the scrapbook isle. I alway stock up on them when they have the 40% off coupons.

Deecee 02-12-2010 11:28 PM

NorBanaquilts - I would like to play if you can help me sort out postage.

I have pm'd you.

STAR 02-13-2010 04:09 AM

That is neat. I knew there was another Holland somewhere but never thought of any other places

Dragonfly Nana 02-13-2010 05:06 AM

We live in a smaller world that we think.

Quilt Mom 02-13-2010 06:10 AM

What a wonderful idea! Count me in. I have LOTS of scraps that my DH wishes were neat and orderly... This way I can have fun sewing them, and he won't have to look at them any more!  It would be so fun to have a quilt block from each of this marvelous group!

montanaquilter 02-13-2010 07:53 AM

oh this is going to be so great with so many ppl doing this, especially our friends over seas!! it's going to be a genuine "quilt around the world"!! i am so excited!! this is going to be another of my treasured quilts for sure!!
