Secret Pal Sign-up for December (Sing-ups close Nov. 30 at midnight)

This is a monthly secret pal swap. There is a sign up every month, and you can
choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner each month, and the person you send to will may be different than the person you receive from. Failure to send your package after signing up will be cause to be banned from all future swaps. Please do not sign up if you cannot fulfill your obligation. Have fun and be creative!

After receiving your Secret Pal’s details, go to work and put together a package with something you think your pal would like. There is a $15.00 limit on this swap that does not include what you have in your stash. (This does not include shipping) Most swappers do not mind like-new stash items. You will need to send me (HAV4Boys) a PM when mailing and receiving. This way I can keep my records straight. Also send a PM to your SP thanking them and leave feedback.

Please take pictures and post in group as everyone likes to see what you get.

Packages need to be mailed out by December 17th, this is a Firm deadline. All International mailings must be mailed by December 10th FIRM. If you know that you cannot mail by that date, Please Do Not Sign Up.

For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift' on the Customs Declaration (there's a box you can check). Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace). The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, Tax and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40.

Padded envelopes are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. These can be ordered free of charge from the USPS website.

Here is what I have been busy with. My work does Gifts from the Heart and I picked a 80 year old man who wanted a quilt. Found great lure backing.

Lovely fisherman's quilt. I used to be active every month on this swap and have amassed two boxes of swappable items. So I went through them today and pulled out several items that I will add to once I receive the name. Here's a sneak peek at part of the box someone will be getting:

I got my name. My pal lives in a state that I visited last year, far to the west of me, and her most wanted item comes in a variety of colors - how's THAT for a vague clue :)

I received my name -- it will be a lot of fun putting a package together for her. She likes many of the same things I do except her candy flavour -- that is my least favourite! But I'll probably bite the bullet and get her some. Joann's has a 60% off coupon, so shopping I go.

I don't believe that I have had my SP before. Hopefully she likes some Christmas things!

@belfrybat, hope your Joann's was less of a zoo than mine! But I braved the massive line (I didn't even get any fabric cut, the line was 40 people long for that - and it still took me 30 minutes in line to check out) and managed to snag 2 of the things my pal listed as things they really need in their most wanted items.

My secret pal package is on it's way!

My word so many folks are mailing early this time. I am too. My package will go out tomorrow since mail is not moving today. I over stuffed the padded envelope so much I was afraid it would pop, so added tape to the sides. I think I got everything on my SP's most wanted list plus a bunch of stuff from my stash.

Hey all - Just wanted to check in. I will be sending my package out Tuesday or so. I am staying with a friend for a few days - she had cataract surgery and she had some complications and needs my help more than just overnight.

Sent my package out today! Your zip code adds up to 21. If you are my SP you should expect to receive your package on Tuesday. :)

Beautiful fabrics, patterns, tape measure, threaded needle holder, cutter blade, seam-fix, emery board, scissors with cover, clips to attach bobbins to spools, a Santa panel, a sewing machine plaque, tea lights and a lovely bag with a see-through design (lit in the photo), a recipe card and tags, and a nice card.
