kat112000 12-13-2009 05:23 PM

Thank you to everyone for the SS! I just got to the city and opened my gift. Thanks to my Secret Santa!!

Hunnib 12-13-2009 05:26 PM

I want to thank everybody for making this "newbie" feel so welcome. This was my first swap and even though my recipient nor my SS were here to enjoy it with me, I had a ball with everyone! To the ladies who worked so hard to pull it off, thank you! To the little mousie in this thread, you don't know how many laughs you have provided! You are truly a gift to this board...you all are!

I need to thank Teacup (Paula) for all my goodies...Dark Chocolate candy, hand cream,a lovely seam ripper, fat quarters, a terrific book so that I can make a fabric bowl, and the clothes line to do the wrapping. and a pattern to make a Chihuahua applique of Tink. Oh, and Tink loves her balls....To much excitement for her, she is napping.

You are so welcome Linda. I had such fun reading your posts, scouring threads for clues as to what colors etc. that you might like.
Saw in one place where you like peach and green, and then came across this creamy fabric with the peachy orangey roses and orchid colored flowers. They don't show that well in mine or your picks, but the ribbon matched them nicely, I think.
It was fun to do something with a specific person in mind. I learned some things about you and saw your talents on different threads on this board. I was a little intimidated, but could tell you are a nice person, and felt that you would appreciate mousie's efforts.
I got to learn a lot from doing this project too. I learned for one...it takes longer than you think it will...phew!
So glad I used UPS! they insisted on putting the city on there.
So cute that your hubby got in on the act too. Mine has really taken an interest in my quilting, the board and all the many wonderful ppl on here, although he will not be taking up the hobby.
I have been asked, lol. Nope, not him. That's all good with me, cause even though I would share with him...I'm glad I don't have to:wink:
Linda, it has been a real pleasure to be your secret santa...know you don't eat chocolate. Never had that kind of candy before, hope it was good...for somebody, lol.
I know how that goes.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas, and maybe sometime in the future, we might get paired in another swap...you never know. Merry Christmas with lots of wishes for a bright new year ahead! mousie :-D

Mousie 12-14-2009 11:29 AM

Now, it should be about time for Terri to pop in, somewhere on this board...
Hope your having a swell time, and you missed one heck of a time, with all of us crammed into that chat room, gal!
We missed ya. Can't wait to see your goodies...then maybe you'll hurry up and show us those babies.
OOOh, I can feel their warmth, and smell their freshly powdered, snuggly little bodies, now. They'll have a little button nose, and tiny little toes, and one lucky grandma:wink:

tlrnhi 12-15-2009 04:26 AM

I'm here!
My camera is acting up on me, so no pics. Maybe I can get some later once I figure out what is going on with camera or when my friend finds her camera.

Thanks Sharon b for the goodies!!

lol, tell your friend to mush:mrgreen:
you've got expecting aunties pacing the floor, waiting to see goodies so we can get on to baby arrivals...better yet, since she could toss you in the cold...tell her we said hi, and thanks for taking care of our Terri. ;)

tlrnhi 12-15-2009 04:59 AM

She would never toss me in the cold. I feed her when I am here. She lives alone, so usually goes out to dinner, so when I come to visit, I cook for her.
I was a "good wife" this morning. I was up at 4am when she got up, made her coffee and some toast, then gave her hugs and kisses and wished her a great day at work. :) :) :)

wow...you are a good friend, to get up with her at 4!
Just wondering, is her mom ok?
Does she have a sewing machine, getting anything quilty done while she is at work?
So glad you didn't forget us all back on the ol' quilt board.
Even though you couldn't be with us on opening day, it wouldn't have been the same all those weeks without you.
You and Shadow and moonpi helped make it a very special event. It was so much fun.
Did I miss it, did you say if your having girls or boys?
I guess we don't get to hear names until after, huh?
Is jbsstrawberry really related to you? twins run in the family, or are you an 'adopted auntie'?
So many questions, lol...but I have to give you something to do, while your on vacation and your bff is at work, lol:wink: hugs! :-D

LindaR 12-15-2009 05:44 AM

Mousie, what a uplift for the day to read your post, you are a "super A+" swapper, I still am looking at everything you did. I have a place next to my sewing machine that I will hang the wallhanging and keep things handy. It definately will get used and I'll think of you every day...Happy New Year also, health, properity, peace on earth.....

Yes, I'm a good friend to her and she'd do the same for me. :)
No babies yet...still waiting.
No, Lisa and I aren't related, her girls adopted me as their FAVORITE auntie. :) :)
Twins don't run in the family...they had invitro done because of problems on both sides.
No worries on something to do. I'm showered and smelling good, heading out to pick up Cajunquilter and her and I are going to Joanns. I have a $50 gift card I need to use. :)

OrchidQuiltFish(OQF) 12-15-2009 05:47 AM

Baren*eh*ked_canadian,

Thank you very much. I had to bring my pkg back to work this morning and open it. I love everything, especially the fabric. The maple syrup candy is great. Pure maple syrup is expensive here. Will post pic when I get home.

Again, thank you so much. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

tlrnhi 12-16-2009 11:13 AM

A Valentine Swap will most likely start about the first of the year.
That will just be a simple one. It'll be 4 fat quarters and you can include a gift of candy or something.
It's not as big as SS. Just small and nothing elaborate.

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 12-16-2009 04:23 PM

Aw, man, it's not even Christmas yet, and you guys are talking Valentines day?!
I went to the dollar store close to my house today, to pick up some hooks to hang decorations on my tree, and I was surprised that their staff was taking down the christmas aisle and putting up Valentines stuff. Good God!

That being said, I'm totally in on the swap!

tigger5464 12-16-2009 08:01 PM

Shadow was talking about maybe heading up the valentines day swap during ss chat, and seemed to get a really great response to it that day. Myself I am sooooo interested in doing it. SD said "maybe the gift would be a block of our choosing in reds and pinks?" IMHO...that would be awesome to do, but not sure how everyone would be with that.

My SS was DebJ and she sent me some of the yummiest fq's. I love them so much and they will go really well with a project that I've got planned for when my hand gets better. Also, the cutest yo-yo maker, I've been afraid to try them but no excuse now. :) DebJ also sent me a subscription to a wonderful quilting magazine. Something that I didn't have the money for and was depending on SIL for her handme down mags. (after she took out the patterns tht she wanted to keep :( ) But, I can't really say a lot, SIL does share :D I was sew moved by SS DebJ's thoughtfulness to give a gift like that I started to cry. Thank you sew very much for everything SD, Teri and Moonpi. I will be joining in next year for the SS and looking forward to valentines also. Merry Christmas everyone. :-D

crickets 12-16-2009 08:04 PM

Oh yeah, a valentine's swap would be fun :-D . I'd definitely do it!
