I love that place and Menards, too. My dh, mr. handyman (NOT!) laughs everytime I drag him there because no matter what we are looking for, I know where it is. When we moved to this house it was my home away from home. LOL!

I do wish that my Santaee would help me out a bit...she offered two colors and one fabric tip.......nothing at all to go on.........hopefully she will like the things I like.....her profile has nothing also.
I am hoping that she is reading this thread and will send out a post or two.........it's nice to get surprises but also would like to get her something that she really is looking forward to receiving.........

Santaees....if you didn't give many suggestions, now's your chance.....

I'm one of those quiet types, much more interested in reading than sharing. I've been collecting Laurel Burch fabric for years....have done little with it except stroking and admiring. I'm building up to choosing some for a bag, but it feels almost like it's sacrilege take scissors or rotary cutter to it. I've also been collecting blues and whites/creams for an eventual blue and whitish quilt. But my main passion is batik fabric. It produces a visceral response in me...almost salivation, I might say. I've even used them for blenders. I love bags and have collected quite a variety of patterns, but the ones I look for are the more local offerings. One of the things I enjoy so is stroking my stash. I've used much of it several times in my head! The colors that I'm viscerally drawn to are blue, green, purple. The ones I'm trying to use because I like are earthy beige and browns. I've been seeking some soft yellows for contrast. My favorite black is Kona...I love its richness. I'm a long-time seamstress/sewer and a relatively recent quilter. Well, I've made quilts and comforters but never sought formal instruction in quilting until about 6 years ago. What power that has engendered in me! I love to see new quilting notions but have learned not to jump on them without thinking it through. I have bought a few of Deb Tuckers rulers and find that they make me look more skilled than I really am! Enough rambling. I'm trying to interact more, and this is my longest share to date.

If you need one more to be on the list I am late at checking out the board but would love to play

Hi!
I also put very little on my list of wants. The main and only thing that you need to know about me is that I really really truly really hate the color yellow! Please don't send me anything with yellow in it, it makes me feel woozzy and sick to my stomach. I know its silly but it is what it is! I know the reason behind it but I never talk about it.
I look forward to this exchange every year because it is the only gift i get, and when I open my gift I can feel the love its packed with.

When will the singing begin? I really love it when you sing and talk about snickerdoodles!

I saw this quote by Louisa May Alcott and it made me think of all of you.
"Stay" is such a charming word in a friend's vocabulary.

I want to get it embroidered on something or painted on my wall.

Having fun...trying to...succeeding, not today. Gonna be a rough day. Work, I think, is trying to kill me. :) Oh well...another day, another dollar...I hope. Quilty hugs and love!!!

Well . . . . I am in the same boat as alot of you guys. MY SS only told me what she didn't want but left what she likes wide open, which makes me nervous because that leaves so much room to fail. YIKES! Not much info on her profile either, so I will have to get creative. . .thinking . . .thinking . . . thinking . . . oh I do hope she posts a few little hints! because I want her Christmas to be merry and bright. . . . oh dear I don't even know if she likes brights! :[

Same here, nothing at all to go on. I like coming up with surprises but just would love a little something to go on. So far all Ive come up with is of course small items that I have in the swap stash bins. These items are cute but still would love to be able to do somehting a little more personal for my partner. So all of you out there that didnt give some of us hints. Please please, let us know.

Let me just say this.....I will be thrilled with anything my SS sends me. I don't exchange gifts with my family any more, so this one is extra special. I think most of us are in the same boat. If it has to do with quilting in some small way, it will be appreciated. I just enjoy the fact that someone I don't know is trying to please me. I would love to bake goodies for people, but no one likes a stale cookie (well, maybe we do) or moldy pumpkin bread, so I won't bake for the SS package. Everyone can use fabric, or thread, or pins, or scissors, or.....or.....or.....:D
