September FQ Swap

Description: This will be a monthly swap. You will sign up each month and you can choose each month whether or not to participate. You will be given a random person to swap with and that person will change each month.
Each month there will be a different theme or color that we will swap. There is a limit of two swaps per person.

**Each person will swap 5 fat quarters that go with the theme or color of the month.
**FQ's can be purchased or can be from your stash but they must be 100% cotton and they must measure 18 x 22 inches (standard FQ).
**They should be 5 DIFFERENT FQ's.

For the month of September the theme is FALL. It can be patterns, designs or colors of fall/autumn.
Since there isn't a whole lot to this swap, the turn around time will be pretty fast. Sign up until noon on August 24th, receive person's name and address byAugust 26th and mail out no later than September 7th. Participants are required to PM me when they have received their FQ's and are required to post a PM thanking the sender. You don't need to let me know that you have mailed.

*When you send your FQ's please be sure to include your board/screen name so that people know whom to thank.

If you would like to participate please PM me with your board name, full name and address and the number of sets you would like to do. Two set limit.

Please see the rules for all board swaps and PM me with any questions. This swap has been approved by the admin.

I think this month I'm going to sit out. Between school starting (18 credit hours + 150 observation hours), the boom swap starting (I thought I said 16, turns out I signed up for 37!!!) and the round/row robin starting, I feel like I'm about to lose my mind (and none of it has even started yet!).

I hope you ladies get some awesome fabric :)

brenda21 08-18-2012 11:08 AM

we'll miss you Kelly....(it's only 5 pieces of fabric...you know you wanna.....):p

How about this: If you need a short-notice fill in or an angel, I'll be your girl. My husband is about to hang me for the amount of fabric that is rolling into this house right now.

jaba 08-18-2012 12:24 PM

Hey, thought I'd post the FQs I'm planning on sending my partner. Hope you like them.

MaryMo 08-23-2012 03:04 PM

Thanks, Vanogay, for showing your fabrics. I was thinking of not participating because I was having difficulty finding quarters to use for this swap ... going through my stash looking for oranges, rusts, browns and dark greens and not finding much. That may be reason enough to participate but I didn't want to have to buy lots more fabric. But now after seeing your fabric, I'm rethinking my choice because I do like these swaps. I have a few more hours to decide for sure.

TheMamaHauser 08-23-2012 03:42 PM

Alright, I'm in... for 3. It's a long story, but it ends with "and he can just suck it." (he = my husband)

sustraley 08-24-2012 03:22 AM

The MamaHauser-- Ha Ha!!

MaryMo 08-24-2012 04:53 AM

MaryMo 08-25-2012 02:19 PM

Where is everybody? Have names been assigned?

mooretll 08-25-2012 03:13 PM

I'm here for now, getting ready for Issac, looks like we are going to catch it by Tuesday. So if i am not on for a few days that means power is out. All my friends in Fla be safe.

We're in the same boat! DH has been busy all day getting prepared. You should see the gas lines and walmart! What a mess. My friends DH is the manager at our Home Depot and he said they sold out of generators yesterday before lunch. I'm sure they got more in. Thank God we have one. Last time we had a bad one we didn't have power for a week. We live out in the country so I think we're one of the last to get fixed. Wouldn't you know both my freezers are full. All those summer veggies. LOL! You stay safe too!

mooretll 08-26-2012 01:49 AM

I know my freezers are full also. going to lowes today and get a generator. Then cross our fingers and hope for the best. Really messing up my planting. I was going to plant the fall crop this weekend now i will be way behind by the time the field drys out enough to plant. be safe

Aprilisslowlylearnlytoquilt 08-26-2012 09:20 AM

It just started raining here, I'm not nearly ready, I am working so it makes it hard fo me to get out and do the things I need to do now, it will have to wait a few hours, I hope it won't be to bad then I do have extra water and stuff like that, and batteries and such.. but there are a few more things i need... Hope all my Florida friends do well, they have already closed Manatee, Pinellas and Hillsborough schools for tomorrow. Be careful all...

mscupid804 08-26-2012 12:14 PM

You Floridians stay safe! I know what you're going thru, been there and done that several times!

Vanogay 08-26-2012 03:53 PM

Yep, stay safe. I've been through many a hurricane in my past and am glad that Tennessee doesn't have them - though, we do seem to get lots of rain from those coming up the Gulf. Have been through hurricanes, fires, tornadoes and earthquakes. Never a Tsunami and don't want to do that or any of the others ever again if I can avoid them.
