September Quilted Fabric Postcard
September will be abstract art. Just let the creativity flow.

You will be making One fabric postcard.

This swap is open to all levels of sewing.*

For a tutorial on how to make fabric postcards, please refer to tutorial in April post.
I do not know how to make a tutorial yet.

Please post pictures of postcards you receive.

* Cards must measure approx 4" × 6"
* Must be predominantly sewed and/or quilted. Embroidery by hand or machine is also welcome.
* Must have some type of finished edge.

Note: We will only be sending postcards due to the price of postage.

Please let me know if you can send internationally. It costs around $1.15.

Sign ups start ***Now***.
Sign ups end September 1st.
Partner's names will be assigned September 3rd.

November will be makers choice of: November 2nd - National Look for Circles Day*

I'm in again. Ready to try my hand at some abstract art. Let the colors fall where they will.

Maybe my "abstract art" card is a little too "abstract". My Dh was passing through my quilting area yesterday and stopped to see what I was working on. I showed him the card I was working on and explained what it was. He said, Oh, so is that your practice piece? Yikes!!! Maybe I should start over! Not going to do that though, I was just thinking it was kind of cute. Hope I don't scare anyone else off from signing up. I swear it is not that bad:)

I found it hard to get started working with fabric and not paint but once I did start I found it fell into place

How about if we all tell 2 people about the postcard swap, and see if we can't get a few more on board?

I asked two of my friends if they wanted to join us. We shall see.

In the meantime I had a bunch of ideas going on in my head but none of them seemed right.

So I looked through my stash of stuff and found some mixed media art that just hit the spot. Now lets see if I can quilt this.

Since postcards are a way of mail. I thought for February we should make Valentine postcards. I remember the ones my grandma from Germany would receive. They were so pretty with a short message on the back.
It was suggested we do our state flower, so I was thinking for May since April showers bring May flowers, we could do our state flower to send. How does that sound so far?
Any suggestions for January?
