Don't worry Judy, it went out in last friday's mail! If you like it I made a couple other blocks in the same colors. Got a birthday coming up or something?
|
And our list begins to GROW! LOL

Anyone want to mail to Ireland for LindaC? It's not a problem for me to mail but I want to offer it to anyone who is willing. When I do the random shuffle for partners then I will have some idea if I need to redo her partner for one who can mail internationally. Thanks everyone!!
|
I reorganized the info for the swap. Does it make it easier to find the info or is it too bunched together and harder to see what is what.
I seperatead all the Quilt Blocks(in the Sampler) of one type into it's own picture thread. I still have to do the Star Points and Wings but the other 4 are there. |

I've had a request for everyone to post their colors so people can buy fabrics ahead of time. So what colors do you want this month?
I'll add this to our list. |
Hmmm ... not sure how to answer this, as I am a scrappy person, not making something in a specific color theme.
And we only have one partner each month, why worry about this until we are assigned and can chat with each other.

I'll add this to our list. Some people expect a detailed list of likes and dislikes as they do in the secret pal swap etc. If anyone wants to use a list you can fill out when you sign up let me know. I think the way we do it now is fine but if you all would like to change anything let me know. The majority will rule. |

I'll add this to our list. I'm kinda with Bonni! I try to see what my partner likes, so far they like what I like, so I haven't had any problems. But I will give my list: I like darks: blues, purples, greens. Browns and earthy colors. I'm not a fan of oranges, pinks, and hate yellow. BUT...I don't want to limit someone from making something that looks adorably CUTE that I wouldn't have done, because that's the fun of the swap! Getting to see the creativity and color play that is outside of our personal comfort range! So, I don't want someone to limit themselves if they KNOW what they have on hand would make a totally cute block. KWIM? |
thanks Shelley. I try to please but I do know I'm not going to please everyone all the time.
So if anyone wants to know my preferance is for country calico colors burgandies navy or dark blues and light blues and hunter greens and I have developed a pension for yellows lately. But like Shelley I don't really care what you use as long as it goes together and you can see the design well. I like to see what others come up with for colors and it stretches my creativity to see others work. I have learned to appreciate batiks tho they will never be my first choice but I have enjoyed branching out. |
Rhonda, I would like to sign up. This will be my first time doing this swap and not familiar with your techniques and blocks. I visited your site and would like to learn. I will need to know for sure the info so will read and look more.
Also, I am a blues person and I love warm fall colors. Batiks are my most favorite type of fabric next to Buggy Barn fabric colors. |

Basically you cut out 2 or 3 or 4 fabrics depending on the Block (unit)you want to make. Then sew them together in the order according to the directions for that Block and lay a template on the fabric and cut out a square from the center. soooo easy to do! Then all you need to do is make as many as you need in the colors you need and sew the squares together into a Quilt Block. IF you need any help just let us know! We have a great bunch of ladies who are more than willing to help out! |
And our list begins to GROW! LOL

Thanks! I may be PMing you for help as we go along.
I'm not picky about colors. I like nature colors, so that's a pretty big spectrum. |
I like all colors. But my favorite is all the different shades of purples.

I'd like to join the swap if I can figure out what you guys have been doing. And I wouldn't mind mailing to Ireland.
Someone point me in the right direction for instructions. Ellen |

So I can pick any of the "blocks allowed" and check with my partner for color preferences.

Someone point me in the right direction for instructions. Ellen I suggest you take a look at one of the Block directions and try making one. Once you understand the cut down process the rest is easy. So click on the Block Directions and have fun trying them out! |
