Beautiful Doll Quilts ladies. I love each of them. Very nice work!

Bertie - I love the bird quilts - great work on the Sweet Land of Liberty sistadebbra

Vanogay 07-09-2013 04:13 AM

Dabler, really cute quilt. While I love all things Americana, I really enjoy the muted R/W/Bs more. Have really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful versions this month!

I received my quilt from Cognito and it is gorgeous! She even added buttons for my initials- DO! She also included some goodies: scissors with a beautiful fob and case she made herself, fabric and machine needles. She also sent me a card and a letter. I hope she receives my quilt soon-you can never tell with international mail!

Thanks again Cognito! You did an amazing job!

Gaijin (D. O.)

Cogito 07-09-2013 04:58 AM

So happy you like it Gaijin! It was my first time ever, believe it or not, to make a string quilt....I have decided I like that process so may do it again some day! Later when I am at my big pooter, I will post pics of the back/label since I know some (like me) love to see those too.:) I am really excited to receive yours...since we mailed the same day, it will be SOON!

Krystyna 07-09-2013 05:03 AM

Very nice Cognito. I like the prairie points on the side!

jillnjo 07-09-2013 05:22 AM

Lovely quilts! I always love birds! We live in a wooded area and enjoy many different songs-with Mrs. Wren keeping order, of course! She and the Mr. take over any little birdhouse they find.

Cognito-such a sweet string quilt! I haven't made one, either, but keep thinking I will. You were very creative with the different embellishments you added.

tesspug 07-09-2013 01:17 PM

We are amazing! Such a bunch of talent in this little swap.

Annaquilts 07-10-2013 06:04 AM

cognito you made a wonderful patriotic string quilt. The goodies just scrumptious.

dabbler312 07-10-2013 08:13 AM

Cognito great job on the string quilt - I have yet to try one - will have to put it in my bucket list.

Krystyna 07-10-2013 08:25 AM

Cogito, you might as well change your user ID to Cognito. That swell misspelling stuck! :D
Sincerely,
Korruptyna

Dabbler, no apologies! We have all been having fun with the cogito/cognito nome de plum...or whatever it is, lol! But I am a little concerned....shouldn't it be cognita?.....

Cogito 07-10-2013 10:56 AM

Thank you Dabbler, et. al btw for the compliments. :o

Chasezzz 07-10-2013 12:05 PM

Yes COGITO that is a lovely quilt you made! uNbelievable what chaos an extra letter can cause! But it has been fun too ;)

I received my quilt from Gaijin/Deborah in Japan! it is a sweet little thing....Japanese theme. I hope you don't mind me posting here.....last month's thread hasn't been active for over a week AND it fits this month's theme since Gaijin lives in Japan! It is only 11 1/2" wide by 17" tall so you can imagine how petite each block is! She sent a photo copy of the quilt with comments about each block. :)

I have it hanging in my family room, it is so darling!
Thanks Deborah!

Linny 07-18-2013 06:51 AM

BertieD 07-18-2013 09:43 AM

Beautiful, beautiful! A special treasure, Gaijin!

klgls 07-18-2013 09:57 AM

What a lovely quilt - BertieD is right - it's a treasure!!

Cogito 07-18-2013 11:05 AM

I am so glad the pictures posted. I am having a good chuckle at myself.....I thought that I actually posted it in this months...47th because I thought people might not see it in last months....hahaha, somehow I did post it in the correct month! No wonder I couldn't find it when I went back to check, lol! I'm such a goof.

Annaquilts 07-18-2013 11:57 AM

Its darling! I love swapping with people out of country. It is worth the extra wait and effort. That is a special keepsake.

Cogito 07-18-2013 12:31 PM

Yes, I really love this quilt! I am so grateful that Gaijin shared a Japanese themed quilt with me!

dabbler312 07-18-2013 01:15 PM

Cogito - what a beautiful crazy quilt - Gaijin you did a wonderful job putting it together; how very special. I would have it displayed as well.

Gaijin 07-18-2013 02:45 PM

Cogito,

I am so sorry you had to wait so long to receive this mini quilt! It is the first time that airmail took longer than a week to arrive. I had already written it off and was preparing to make another!

Thank you for your patience and the lovely quilt you made me and the other goodies!

Deborah (Gaijin)

Lynnie25 07-18-2013 03:43 PM

Wow, Cogito I love the Japanese themed quilt Gaijin made for you, it is so adorable. Are the blocks paper pieced or traditionally pieced, they look so tiny

I received mine today from argentium. She embellished the little quilt so nicely and sent me beads, a needlefelt pin cushion and deco pins to go with it. All so nice and they are special, so glad she sent them to me. Will certainly hang it for next years 4th of July celebration and use the pin wheel too! Thank you so much for sending and making sure I got this from you

Lynnie25 07-18-2013 11:47 PM

Java, love your little quilt, how cute is that beading on it. Great work argentium !

Argentium 07-19-2013 02:04 AM

Jaba, I'm so sorry it took so long to get to you but I'm glad you like it. And I should take this opportunity to show off the one you sent me... again, apologies for the belated "thank you". It's gorgeous and it should have gotten it's "ooh and ahh" moment on here when I received it.

Having major computer problems ... my old standby with Windows 7 is dying and the new one --- well, all I can say is don't get Windows 8. Ugh. Hope everyone is staying cool!

Cogito 07-19-2013 04:32 AM

Argentium, you create such wonderful doll quilts! You have a great eye for color and design! It is fantabulous. :)

Cogito 07-19-2013 04:34 AM

Jaba,
i love the way you used the star fabric for the binding. It literally makes the quilt edges sparkle....like fireworks! :)

Annaquilts 07-19-2013 04:42 AM

Argentium and Jaba both oohhs and aaahhs for the gorgeous little DQs you made for the red/white and blue swap. Well worth the wait!

Deborah,
you have no control over postal services! Maybe customs thought you were sending me secret messages in Japanese! :D Remember....all good things come to she who waits.

tesspug 07-20-2013 10:20 AM

Beautiful quilts ladies. Jaba I love the flower and flag print. It reminds me of fabrics I saw in Civil War museums. Southerners weren't allowed to show their cities flags so they created floral fabric to represent the flag.

jillnjo 07-20-2013 03:08 PM

Very pretty quilts!
