I have participated in the 1.5 and 2.5" swaps. I have wondered what others think if they happen to get 1.5 and 2.5 from me that are the same fabric. At first, I tried to keep the fabrics seperate, but I have done so many swaps now that I have lost track. So now I make sure that I cut some new fabric for each swap. That way I know there will be at least some that are different.
I agree with Wardy74, though. It doesn't bother me when I get the same fabrics in both swaps. I am just looking for more variety than what I have on my own. |
I am in for 20 sets sent pm last night to Mariposa.....;)
|
I am cutting for the 2.5", and 1.5", and I am in love with the idea that I don't have many small scraps, as I cut down for the 2.5", and am able to get a couple of 1.5" with the leftovers.. At the rate I am going, I should be done in time for both.. I also was able to get scraps from the LQS, and hopefully infuse different fabrics from the other swaps I did..
You bet I am having so much fun doing it.. |
* How's everybody coming along on their cutting-?
Barri- I know you're at it a bit every day. You go girl!! |
Hi All, I haven't even started...but...I do have my starching & pressing done for them...I'm also doing a 2.5" swap...I've been busy sewing these 1.5" bits into squares to incorporate with the 2.5" quilt...
I never thought I would ever be working with such tiny pieces...the one thing I have a problem with is the random picking of the squares...there are some pieces I just can't put together!!!!! |
I cut my 1.5" strips now I need to turn them into stamps. :D
|
Honchey-- you'll get used to these "small" pieces! :) Looking forward to seeing your progress on your project with both sizes of stamps! Looking good so far!
Sheri- glad you are making progress on yours. How are those "Grandma's Closet" quilts coming along-? |
Mine are all cut. Just need to bag them ang get them in the mail.

I got stuck at a conference today, and all I could think of is I really wanted to be home playing with my fabric.. The good part of the conference was I was getting paid to be there, and therefore I had the extra funds to buy more fabric..
I wish someone could've mentioned that if I ironed the fabric before cutting, it would've gone much easier, and faster.. It's amazing how much I learn from you guys.. Since I still have a bunch to cut, I will iron the rest of the fabric.. Ughhhh |
Grandma Di-- your squares have arrived! :)
Sheri- Sorry to hear Grandma is under the weather. Just keep doing what you can, they'll understand. :) |
Will be mailing my 20 sets on Monday! Thanks for doing this again!
|
Barri1, use some spray starch and you'll be amazed that it's better yet...
|
Honchey, You are so right. I starched some fabric last night, and the cutting was unbelievably easier. My apologizes to those that are getting my unstarched pieces.
Sheri, please include this suggestion in the instructions on the next swap.. |
It also makes picking the pieces up easier...I've been starching my fabric for years...
|

I am sooo excited.. I got my package out today.. I am on a roll. I glued the binding on a play mat, and all I have to do is hand sew it.. I reorganized all my scraps, and started sewing my QAYG project.. I was in a sewing slump, and think I am on my way out.. I can't believe it... It was way too long for my liking...
