Here is a mini tablerunner I did. You can use any three quilt blocks you like. Mine are 3 of my own designs.

Chasezzz 08-28-2014 03:10 AM

Looks great Rhonda! I too make table runners/toppers, because they are fun small projects.

Anoka Quilter 08-28-2014 01:59 PM

Great table runner.

I use table runners all the time. I have a large dining room table that I definately try to get one on and I am trying to get some made for the coffee table.

Here is the finished tablerunner/wall hanging. I added a simple picture hanger on the back so it can be hung as a wall hanging.

Rhonda 08-30-2014 08:45 AM

How is everyone doing? We are now at the middle point in this swap! You have 2 months left to get your wall hanging done and ready to mail. Any sneak peeks? I'd love to see some pics and some conversation going here!

Looking forward to seeing all the pretties!!

Anoka Quilter 08-30-2014 10:07 AM

It has been very quiet, unlike the last swap.

I bought a great panel when I was doing the Row by Row that is going to be my wall-hanging for my person. Just haven't had the time to put it together yet.

Rhonda 08-30-2014 10:13 AM

Maybe it's just a busier time of the year for people. Hope you all have a wonderful fall. It is my favorite time of the year. I love the scents and the colors. It'll be time to get my pumpkin collection out soon! I have a huge collection and still add to it even tho it really doesn't need any more. but I love fall and if I find a pumpkin or gourd I dont have I usually add it to the mix. One of these days they will take over my house LOL

lynnie 08-30-2014 10:18 AM

I LOVE Herman, so cute!!!

skaduzy 08-30-2014 04:01 PM

I know what I am going to make, just haven't started it yet. Rhonda, I like your table runner/wall hanging.

Rhonda 08-30-2014 05:20 PM

Thanks Skaduzy. I think it came out pretty well. I wondered if the quilt blocks show up very well. the center one is good but the top and bottom one kind of blend rather than stand out. but it is okay.

JNCT14 08-31-2014 03:34 AM

Thanks Lynnie! They are cute and comforting. Still stuck on wall hanging ideas. I need to get on the internet and start looking.

ube quilting 08-31-2014 04:46 AM

Hi everyone. Labor Day greetings to all. A few pictures of the mouse prototypes for the contest at work. The chosen ideas will be add to the production line and sold in the Emporium at work.

Since I love Spring and Summer I always lean towards that theme and let other people do the winter stuff.

Anoka Quilter 09-01-2014 07:41 AM

Ube quilting, I love your mice. The are just adorable.

Rhonda 09-01-2014 11:07 AM

I agree such a cute mice!

JNCT14 09-02-2014 07:32 AM

Ube those are just too cute.

I finally took the plunge and ordered 2 spools of the 100% polyester thread from Connecting Threads. Gutermans is $8.00 for 1000m, CT is $5.99 for 3300m. I just hope it works - my machine is a thread queen. Grrr.

I may have (finally) come up with a theme for my wallhanging. I am thinking a sun/moon/stars/wind, using the Rolling Stone (aka single wedding ring) block for the sun.

jaba 09-02-2014 08:42 AM

Haven't started mine yet so I better get it in gear. Today is the 1st time I've received a notification for this thread, good thing I did.....I almost forgot about it. Anyone for fall or Thanksgiving? or would you rather have Christmas??

ube quilting 09-02-2014 01:29 PM

Sounds cool J. Very trippy, man!

Jaba, I'm good for anything your heart desires. I still haven't decided on mine yet:thumbdown:. This is not good!

Rhonda 09-02-2014 02:22 PM

Well you do have the rest of Sept and Oct yet to work on. so no pressure! Now I have to decide what I am going to make for my doll quilt swap and I think I have my mini swap decided on. One of these days I may have to jump in here too! Not now tho. I am too busy for that. LOL Maybe the next one tho.

Aurora 09-02-2014 11:37 PM

I am cutting mine out today and should have the piecing done this weekend. This is my second design choice -- just could not get started on the first one. I have been cleaning and reorganizing my tiny sewing room -- it has only taken six months, but I can finally easily access my fabric for selections. I am already feeling more productive.

HINT: Mine will be a modern take for the Holiday Season. Seems my quilting process is in constant motion, even if I am not.

Hi everyone. Well I have been thinking and thinking about my WH and I know what I want to do but have sent my brain into implode mode keeping it inside so to distract myself from my own distractedness I took my self on a short road trip for inspiration and to clear my head. I can't understand why I am not focusing on the WH, until I saw this and I knew why in a second.

For months I have been looking for just the right thing I need to fill an empty space. We just can't have that, can we!
Now My brain is settled, I can focus and study my quilting books in my new rocking chair. Ha ha. I spent more than I wanted but it is so comfortable I couldn't resist, $65.00 later I am a happy rocker.

Now I can start my WH and be in a settled state of mind.
peace

JNCT14 09-08-2014 02:37 AM

Nice chair!

Chasezzz 09-08-2014 03:30 AM

Agree...great chair!

So Rhonda, reread the instructions to make sure I understand...my WH is finished. Do you want me to post a pic? I hope someone enjoys fall!

ube quilting 09-08-2014 12:51 PM

Hi Chasezzz, Going to jump in here and say I love to see pictures from beginning to end! There is no rule about posting pictures. Do what you want. Remember that even though we see a picture or two or three of the work, we still don't know who will receive it. That's when the real surprise happens.

I always post my work in progress, so I better get to it:D

Ugh its upsidedown....

ube quilting 09-09-2014 03:02 PM

Oh no, will we fall off? !!!!

Rhonda 09-10-2014 12:31 PM

Oops Sorry I'm not getting any emails so I didn't see this til now.

Post all the pics you want to!! The more the merrier! You won't spoil any surprises as no one knows who is getting which wall hanging!

JNCT14 09-11-2014 01:33 AM

Ok any opinions on border? I was thinking a simple white one since its kind of busy.

Aurora 09-11-2014 04:18 AM

Got mine mostly sewn yesterday at UFO, just have a little tweeking (aka -- ripping and restitching) to do. Borders are cut and ready to add, then a few tasteful embellishments -- nothing too gaudy. Happy to say I am well ahead of my timeline at this point.

Hi J, imho,
1. white would be a good choice and bind in the dark blue or rust/ red that is in the blocks.
2. Piano keys in all the colors in the quilt, bind in rust/red. :D

jaba 09-11-2014 05:17 PM

I still haven't started mine yet. Thinking Thanksgiving type theme, maybe it will "hit" me tomorrow since we woke up to 2" of snow this morning, froze last night and it will tonight too, fireplace is going. Something should pop in my head....

ube quilting 09-14-2014 03:56 PM

Hi everyone, I have been watching the weather to see if the east coast is going to get any of that cold loop that hit you out in the west. I think it is going to be an early, cold and wet winter. Did I mention that winter is my least liked season.

I spent the weekend working on a Halloween WH for my DH and more importantly, the swap WH. It has transformed from a bird to a teapot to a tree. So I have it ready to quilt which I will start this week and I will post pictures on Monday. Having to go to work got in the way of getting started on the quilting, again!!!

I am looking forward to some more pictures from everyone!
peace

Aurora 09-16-2014 01:02 AM

UPDATE:

Finished sewing my top last night. Ready to square up and add borders. Should sandwich and start quilting in next week or so. Cannot believe my progress at this point. I will try to post a photo when it is complete.
