Winter 2013 PS swap- Sign ups close Jan. 20th, 2014

This swap is for 1.5" squares (postage stamps) in sets of 50 different 100% cotton fabrics. Please send what you would like to receive. Limit is 20 sets per swapper.

*Please send me a PM to sign up, and let me know how many sets you'd like to swap.

*Please use quality 100% cottons only! NO flannel, NO homespun, NO blends. If in doubt of fiber content, please leave it out!

*All sets do not need to be identical. You can use any 100% cottons in your stash!

*Please MAKE SURE to trim off selvages before cutting your squares. Also try to be accurate in your cutting of the squares, so they DO measure 1.5". Rotary cutting these does help with accuracy.

*Please double check that your sets have 50 (or more) squares in them! We don't want to short change anyone.
Also check that there are 50 DIFFERENT fabrics.

*It seems to work best to put the squares into small, snack size baggies. Be sure to label each baggie with your name, board name, etc.

Sign-ups close Jan. 20th, 2014. Sets are due to me by Feb. 5th. I will swap them out, and get them in the mail soon thereafter.
** International folks, please mail 10 days earlier! To make sure I get them in time.**
For mailing:
Most folks have been sending in stamps, a USPS m.o. or cash for a PADDED flat rate envelope ($5.95) (which I do prefer). It does make things a lot easier for me, and no worries about bulky packages. Delivery Confirmation is included. I can supply these envelopes, they are free from usps.com.
NO pre-paid printed postage! They are dated, and my P.O. does not accept it!
If you choose to send a different envelope, please, please make sure there is plenty of postage $ for it. An extra stamp, or such wouldn't hurt. These packages are "bulky" and get considered a "parcel", per my Post Office. They charge more for that.
If your sets cost more than what you sent in, I have no choice to hold them until I get the difference. It all adds up. Thanks for your understanding.

Anyone doing any cutting and such today??

I'm going to try to get some cut today, but I'm also starting to put my squares together (4 patches). :o

I am going to start bagging them up today. I need to finish embroidering my grandsons name on a backpack he got for Christmas, then I will be ready to mess up the kitchen table again. GEE!! Haven't had fabric ALL OVER IT in about 10 days now. Also got some Taco Soup going in the crock pot, so all is well in my world today.

I've been playing catch up, doing cutting, and a bit of sewing. I've finished up an apron, and half way through another. Both ufo's. I love progress--even small steps! Now to doing more squares.........

Hey guys ---- I found this really cool die that cuts 1.5" squares, four at a time. It just became available a few weeks ago from Sizzix for $19.99 plus shipping.

Mine came in the mail last Friday and I spent the weekend cutting up my fabric scraps. :-)

I am using the die in a Fiskars Fuse with the adapter plates. You can send about 3-4 layers through at once.
I imagine if you don't use the adapter plate (or used the Accuquilt Go cutting plate instead of the Fiskars cutting plate) you could probably send 6 layers through. I have to do some experimenting on that.

It's really fun. Lay down the scraps until you get 3-4 layers, crank 'er through, and voila! You have 16 1.5" die cut squares. It works even better if you're using original yardage. Simply fold up the fabric into 4 layers and send it through. No fuss, no muss.

I would expect that the die would work in a Big Shot or Accuquilt also, but you'd have to check.
