Rbwiese yes that is 14 bags of 10. I have already mailed them off to you. I sent you the tracking number

MaryMo 02-04-2019 04:36 PM

Is it too late to sign up? If not, I am in for 1 set of 8 bags, 10 different fabrics. I hope I've found some unique fabrics. They should be ready for mailing before Friday.

bkay 02-05-2019 01:54 PM

No, it's not too late. She says she wants it in her hands by Feb 28. I have a mail date for me of Feb. 22. So we have at least two more weeks until mailing time.

bkay

rbwiese 02-05-2019 07:51 PM

I can make the 14 bags work!

Queenbarbiej 02-06-2019 02:46 PM

Rbwiese, if you would like, I can make two more bags send them to you and put in extra money for shipping.

bkay 02-06-2019 02:55 PM

Hi Rena, do you want cash enclosed for postage or will you do paypal again?

Everyone tell your friends here about the swap, could use a few more players! I have emailed pretty much everyone who participated in the last swap or 2.

Either - I will pm you my paypal.

I put an advertisement for this swap in the Secret Pal swap. Hopefully we can get a few more.

pinkflowers 02-07-2019 06:55 PM

I searched what I have available and found that I can do 8 bags. I'm not sure if any of the prints have been swapped before. Hope that's okay.

mmonohon 02-07-2019 07:36 PM

Sent package out today.

rbwiese 02-07-2019 08:35 PM

Mmonohon will be looking for your package! Thanks for the headsup!

I'm not the hostess of this swap. However, I think you can end up with duplicates no matter whether you've swapped them before. Generally speaking, I buy at least a yard of any I spy fabric as that is the minimum cut at lots of places, both online and at warehouse type places. (It also takes a yard to participate in an ABC swap.) So, I swap the same fabric again all the time. (See reply #11 on this thread.)

I think you are more likely to get duplicates because several different swappers recently bought their fabrics from JoAnns and Hobby Lobby than older fabrics that have been swapped before.

JMHO, Rena may have a different take on it.

rbwiese 02-08-2019 01:06 PM

Pinkfllowers - sure that would work.
We have some new participants and some who welcome duplicates, so send them if you want to.

As Bkay said, many places have 1 yd min in purchases, so they need to be used.

Okay, that's good. I don't mind duplicates. In fact, when I cut out my own I spy squares, I pair them up for matching game quilts or placemats. Hey, would that be an idea for a swap? Instead of 10 unique squares per baggie, maybe 5 sets of doubles?

bkay 02-10-2019 02:22 PM

I ended up with 3 sets. I have them packaged and ready to go. I'll PM you when I mail.

Quiltindragon, glad to see you. Will add you to my list.

Mmonohon your squishy arrived yesterday.

Saw this cute idea in a FB group - reminded me of Moonrises bags, but using a different medium.

Hey guys, we are going to Nashville on Wednesday - our daughter defends her thesis at Vanderbilt on Thursday. We are staying through the weekend because her daddy-do list has grown. She has to be at UCLA by the first of April, so she has a lot to do in a short time. The PO will be holding our mail, but if you have not mailed yet. you are welcome to hold off until next week.

I will still check-in here while gone, Thursday may be out! There is a party later that day, so not sure how the day will unfold. Plan to get some shopping in while I am there. There is an amazing store with approx 16,000 bolts of fabric - but it is stacked everywhere! However, the owner knows if she carries a particular line, and approx where it is. There are 4 or 5 aisles of novelty fabric, so I love going there and stocking up.

Here is an updated list of participants:

An idea was thrown out about doing a matching set swap - would y'all pm me indicating a yes or no on doing a swap like that and how many sets you would like to put in a baggy - 5 fabrics in pairs or what.

Rosemary Attaway 02-11-2019 11:50 AM

If I'm not too late,I have 10 bags of 10 squares ready to send. I had not signed up because I didn't know if I could find enough fabric. We have had some nasty weather and I didn't want to go shop by myself! I need your address please.

rbwiese 02-11-2019 05:22 PM

Glad to have you Rosemary! PM'd you my address.

Sleepy Hollow 02-14-2019 03:29 PM

I'm going to look, but I don't think I'll be able to have enough cut to meet the deadline (I'm usually far ahead for this swap, but dropped the ball this round). So, if I can't get it done this time, I'll be back for the next swap.

pinkflowers 02-15-2019 04:43 AM

Please PM your address, rbweise. I plan to ship tomorrow. Thanks!

We made it home from a great week - it is so wonderful to see one's child in her "element". She is a science nerd through and through. She will because good professor one day - she can explain complicated topics in ways I can understand.

Hope I got addresses to all who needed it. Sleepy Hollow, if you can get them wecwould love to have you, but if not will see you next time.

Thank you for your patience while we were away, I came down with my husband's cold, so spent much of today in bed before we decided to drive in. I will pick up our mailing Monday.

Rbwiese, is it too late for me to mail? I've worked 20-something days in a row. I have them cut, just not bagged. Let me know and I can get them in the mail, otherwise I'll save till next time.

I'm in Texas. I mailed on Tuesday. The post office said Rena would get it on Thursday. She's in the middle of the country, so I would guess that if you mailed it Monday, she would get it by the due date.

Great, thanks. I will get everything packed up tomorrow afternoon while my boss is in-flight and get it to the post office.

I started cleaning out my sewing area and came across a box with about 20 different i-spy swap/worthy fabrics. So much for not having any to play with this swap! :D Next time, I'm in for sure!!

Stafar 02-21-2019 12:52 PM

Mailed mine off today, estimated to arrive Saturday.

Bullock2us 02-21-2019 03:43 PM

Mine and my Mom's was mailed off today-16 bags for each of us!

sewhappyinSF 02-22-2019 11:18 AM

My two sets are going priority today, so you should be receiving the package Mon. or Tues. FYI, I noticed my name didn't appear on your list of participants. Have a nice weekend!

rbwiese 02-23-2019 04:35 PM

Hey everybody - how has your Sat been? Mine has been the best day I have had in about a week. Cold went into bronchitis, and that included 2 ER visits. First time had an allergic reaction but couldn't determine what from - with the second I knew - it was the medicine I have used in my nebulizer for eons. Didn't suspect it at first because I have used it a long time. The second trip was by ambulance, my breathing was so compromised. But I am feeling better.

Have received several squishies during the week - and apologies to SewhappyinSF - have you on my excel sheet but failed to get you listed in the Word doc I copy and paste each time.

So I think I have all accounted for. If I have left you off, please let me know!
