Hello, everyone! I'm brand new to this board and have pm'd to join. Excited to try my hand at this and learn some new things. Oh,--and I chose Down by the Seashore---beachy, sandy, ocean kind of things. Can't wait to get started...

Ok, I finally made up my mind for a theme. I'm going with a Modern Quilt look. Here is the link that helped me make up my mind. I love the look and all the white..I am a bright nut myself, but I want something a little different. If you scroll down on the link, it's about half way down with blue green colors.

Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm going with a "Winter Splendor" theme ... trees with snow, snowflakes, winter cabins, winter wildlife, snowy mountains, etc. The main colors will be blue and white. More realistic than novelty. In other words, things you might actually see in a winter landscape.
Can someone give me a "how-to" on the label? An example picture, maybe? Thanks!

Yes Whigrose does wonderful applique, it hangs on my wall and I see it everyday. Also, I have found that if I trace my other pieces inside the main piece, I save on heat n bond. I do like this method and mades for easier quilting as well. Then you applique quilts last longer because the heat n bond makes them stiff and the appliques puff above the quilt and can get wear spots at the point of bonding edges.

Wow, I am soo glad to see some pictures of this. It is not what I had in mind, but I LOVE IT!!! I am thinking of either doing a "transportation" theme, since I have been in the transportation industry for Many years and I could actually hang it at our office for everyone to enjoy. I worry that might be a difficult theme for others, what do you think?
OR, since I just moved to a lakeside community, I thought it might be nice todo a "lake" theme. Sand, beaches, seagulls, umbrellas, shells, rocks, waves, the list goes on!!!
I am really excited to make my final decision on a theme, and it sure has helped seeing the samples!!!! Let the games begin. LOL
