    Scrap Swap! Sign-up ends February 7, 2012

    Let's have a Scrap Swap!

Anyone working on postage stamp quilts, crazy quilts, piecing projects, or wall art hangings are always in need of scrap pieces. Because so many of us are in need…we're having a swap.

Number of participants will be limited to 25.

    Sign-Up begins February 1st and ends February 7, 2012
Mailing deadline is February 14th for US and international.

    Description:

Participants fill a Flat Rate Envelope stuffed with scraps. You can send your scraps to me the cheapest way possible, but you must include a postage stamp of $5.15 for return postage.

Scraps should be 100% cotton (NO FLANNEL)

    Minimum size would be 2 x 2” squares and/or 1” strips.
Any irregular cut pieces are acceptable as long as a 2 x 2” square can be cut from it.

Maximum size would be a FQ.

Please label your package with your board name and state/country.

Flat Rate Envelope should be full. My post office will accept a stuffed envelope as long as I’m able to tape it closed.

You can send your scraps to me the cheapest way possible, but you must include a postage stamp of $5.15 for return postage. Scraps will NOT be swapped if you do not include a stamp for return postage.

Only send scraps you would want to receive. If you aren't sure, do not include it.

Please graciously accept what you receive.

Remember, this is a scrap swap. There are no guarantees as to what you will receive. If, for some reason, you are not happy with your scrap package, please keep it to yourself. NO public complaints or criticisms of other swappers, or items received.

Coordinated by: Twisted Quilter (If you want to be added to this group activity, please send me a private message.)

I've got a couple of sandwich size baggies with little 'snipets' (1/2" x 2" or longer). If anyone wants one, send me a PM and I'll include it in your return envelope, if I can get it in.

I'm going to the post office today for my envelope. I also need to send a pkg to my SIL in Kuwait. So just a stamp but not the return envelope, right? Twisted Quilter - I need you to PM me your address so I can mail this to you.
    Thanks

All PM's answered. No need to include the envelope for return mailing, I picked up envelopes yesterday while at the post office. Return postage stamp(s) should be $5.15.

pm is a private message. if you click on someone's name in a thread one of the choices will be private message. these are used when we respond to swaps and need to send our private info such as mailing addresses, etc. also when you only want to chat with one person, you would send them a private message.

try clicking on your name and you will see the choices that come up.

well twisted i checked my scrap bag and i am gonna need to sit this one out. i did a pif recently and mailed two flat rate boxes of extra scraps now i don't have enough to stuff up a flat rate envelope.

oh well, hopefully this will be a well received swap and there will be a repeat one. i am in constant quilt motion so should be able to participate next time around. good luck hosting. and here's to hoping there will be plenty of treasures traded.

Havplenty, I'm so sorry you won't be joining us on this adventure. Hopefully you'll have enough stash to participate in the next 1.5" swap! I'm waiting for the current postage stamp swap to end before starting the next.

Yep, I'll be hosting the next swap. I'm good for at least 6 more! Wish I could do the neutral swap but I don't have near enough to participate.

gathered some scraps up and I hope I can cram them all in a flat rate envelope. A lot of mine are fat quarters or a little smaller. I know that I won't get FQ's back, I just wanted to get rid of some of these things and twisted quilter I included a giftie for you too!
