Hi All- finishing up my needlecases, the unexpected houseguests go home on Saturday. Did not get home until after ten pm yesterday (I left for work at 6:30 am) as we went right out to dinner and let Bob Evans to the cooking. Dad seems to be doing well, but his hair is starting to come out a little. I think he's going to be fine. He told the doc that the cancer better change its plans as he isn't changing his. He's still planning on going to his 50th hs reunion, trying to convince him to fly as I don't think a 2000 mile (round trip) road trip is the best idea in the middle of chemo. He had to cut the planned longer trip, but the doc scheduled the chemo sessions so he can go.

quiltingdragon, glad to hear that your dad is still going to his reunion. It is all in the attitude. You are both still in my prayers.

Planning a trip to JoAnn's for more goodies tomorrow with my mother. That will be a fun trip. She has started two quilts. One for my brother and one for my son. She purchased the fabric for both 20+ years ago. We need to try to match colors. I need to shop for summer fabrics. Then to the "corner" I go!!

If you have not received your pin cushion or needlecase, hang in there. Mine may mail tomorrow, but at the latest on Monday. Work has gone crazy as the California Budget is a mess. As a fiscal advisor to the governor, I am a chicken with its head cut off.

    Ashjoy,

Terrific work on your pincushion. After all the hesitation and starting over, it turned out to be quite beautiful. WTG.

    Sikes,

I posted instructions on how to make fancy pins in one of the earlier swaps hostessed by Mariposa. You can go back in the swaps page and find them. Several other people added to the instructions. I am so pleased to see so many people adding fancy pins to their pincushions. My sister, sucia, started making them when she felt too sick to do anything else. She was so pleased with her pins that she stayed up all night and used most of my stock of beads. LOL It was terrific to see her enjoying herself so much. Also, we have a stock of fancy pins now instead of a stock of beads. She added fancy pins to her two swap needlecases as well as her pincushions. They are very easy to make.

I am anxiously awaiting next weeks mail hoping it will bring the pin cushion from my yet unknown swap partner. Everything is looking so lucious on here, I can't wait to post a pic of what I receive. Such a variety and a multitude of talent among us. :-) Happy weekend to all.

QL - so sorry to hear that. {HUGS} to you and your family.

I received the most awesome pin cushion from lauriejo. I will have to post pics later as I am on my way to yet another baseball game. Love spring, but man it is busy this time of year! I had the most stressful day at work yesterday, so getting the pc in the mail was a very welcome surprise! Thanks again lauriejo!

Mrs. B that is a very pretty needle case you received. Very pretty pink and green colors, and I love the boots.
