Secret santa 2015
#81
I've been MIA for ages, just busy with life. That said, I miss Secret Santa time! I want to join in once again. Maybe my person will need some of my stash, just sayin'. Need to thin the herd.

I love this kind of stuff, can't wait! Although now I'm dying to know what kinds of "trash" people have sent as gifts, lol. I will hold off on shopping until I get my giftee, I want to suit the presents to her tastes... I'm ultra modern, what if she loves civil war reproductions, you know?
I'm well aware of the adage, 'It's the thought that counts', but.............

OH MY Knitette!
That package is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
If anyone receives a package such as this, you need to let me know! This is what I call trash and I'm sure others will agree. It's one thing to repurpose items, but this is not repurposing, this is trash. The only thing that I can see that would be appropriate is the coffee since it's unopened. But no one wants "treasures" such as this.

Just to make clear folks, this was on another swap, not the Secret Santa .
To reiterate what Teri has already said - parcels will vary widely in both size and content. Some people have done this swap before and shop throughout the year for bargains, making their $20 seem like elastic, whilst others will take their $20 to their LQS and buy their partner some thread or buttons to go with the 4 FQs. It is what it is.
Big is not always beautiful and hopefully you won't get anything like the one pictured . Happy shopping!

I would love to have the Lake Placid patch, it will be valuable in about 50 yrs! I collect patches. Sorry you had to endure such an awful pkg in that other swap. I shall focus on the requests of my assigned person to avoid unhappiness.

I'm in - I PM'd Terri this afternoon. Last year was my first year, and I really enjoyed it, especially the chatting from now until the opening date! I don't chat a lot - but this board is just fun!
