went to couple estate sales today with a friend. first one was more knick knacks but did find couple owls to add to my collection. second estate sale was house of a sewer. rooms full of various fabrics.patterns, sewing doodads, etc. i spent $85 but come home with some real treasures. 5 cones of white thread, small plastic box of 15 rubber thimbles in various sizes, two pieced tops --one 36 x 45 and other is 53 x 63, 79 pieced pointed Dresden Plate blocks--need to be appliqued to background fabric, 19 fussy cut 3.75 squares of dogs and cats on green background, 39 printed blocks of teddy bears at 7.5 x 8", 33 appliqued reclining cats with green leafy borders-14" square and 42 appliqued sitting cats with brown and metallic yellow on cream borders, package of 12 flour sack dishtowels, and 3 embroidery day of week towel patterns. we will be going back tomorrow to actually buy fabric when it is half price.

There is nobody here to hide my pkg & I've moved it at least 6 times, maybe I'll forget where I move it last ---NOT.
My goodness, maybe a neighbor would be best, 18 days to go.
hugs,
dj

We still have 18 days to wait? Major groan going here. A neighbor sounds like a very good solution. But wait a minute, she is terribly nosy and she might open it before I can. Hmmm not a solution here. If I shake it really hard maybe some of the tape will start to come loose and I can sneak a peek! NOT!!! If I peek I know I will open it all the way. Think I'll just put it in the trunk of the car! Out of sight, out of mind. Maybe that will work.

Thought Everyone would this ..

'Twas the night before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,
And the quilts were not made.
The threads were all tangled, the cookies delayed.
The stocking weren't hung, the pantry was bare.
The poor weary Quilter, was tearing her hair.
Stacks of fat quarters, tipped over in streams.
Visions of Log Cabins, had turned into dreams.

When what to her wondering eyes should appear,
But a bus full of quilters with all of their gear.
They went straight to work with just a few mutters,
Sorting and stitching and brandishing cutters.
The patterns emerged from all of the clutter,
Like magic the fabrics arranged in a flutter.
Log Cabins, Lone Stars, Flying Geese & Bear Tracks
Each quilt was a beauty-even the backs.

Her house how it twinkled, her quilts how they glowed.
The cookies were baking, the stockings were sewed.
Their work was all done, so they folded their frames,
And packed up their needles, without giving their names.
They boarded the bus, and checked the next address.
More quilts to be made, another quilter in distress.

She heard one voice echo, as they drove out of sight,
Happy quilting to all and to all a good night!

18 days??!!!!! I'll try not to keep looking at the calendar. Sigh.
And I'm not letting my package out of my sight! I've already picked it up and shifted it three times since I received it last night. I'll have to put it under the tree after I put my Christmas tree up next weekend. That will make it even harder, but more festive!!!

That is perfect! I love it. I am going to put this on a quilt and hang it in my sewing room!
