Okay, time to share with you all.....
Australia map...pretty self explanatory, that's where I live, born and bred here, 5th generation one side, second the other.
Platypus, because they're a unique Australian mammal, just like me!!!
Dragon, I love these mythical beings, and my DH has always referred to me as his dragon lady..
Butterfly, because they are ever changing, again just like me, and they also have no right to be flying, as their weight is meant to be too heavy for flight, me I'm just too heavy, although we are working hard on changing this.
The cockatoo, because it's a loud brash Aussie bird. guess who else qualifies for this title.
Well, I will think of more things to add as we go, and anyone who doesn't get this, will have to wait for the rest of the explanation.
Hope this is enough info for you....
Have a great mothers day, mine's almost over, but I had fun sewing this today:)

This is a start of my mug rug.
Lighting isn't the greatest, neither is the carmera or may be the one holding it

But here's the deal. A big part of who Jillaine is, is a figure and portrait painter. So the idea of "painting" with fabric is a challenge I wanted to take on. Here's where I am so far. No embellishments yet. No lips either! I include the original from which I'm working.
Jillaine,
That's amazing! Looks like tons of work... now, how are yo uever going to be able to part with that?
Looks like a fun swap, but maybe it should have just been a "challenge" to share your works of art with each other by pictures! I don't know how any of you want to give these away! I think I'd like to try to make one of these sometime, too! Neat idea!
