Default September POM

~September~ Project of the Month
Sign up until August 31st Mail by September 30th

This months project ….A Set (2) of POT HOLDERS
My hope is that you will step out of your comfort zone with these, Try something new……a new shape, size, technique you could make them oven mitts or even one of those cool “double oven mitts” (these count as 2)

A set (2) of Pot Holders, embellished any way you choose.
There are no precise directions or criteria. I only ask that your finished project be something that you would be excited to receive.

If you’d like to join, please send a pm to me tlambing and include the following

Real Name
Phone #
Email address
Severe Allergies
Can you swap Internationally?

Sign ups will be open until Wednesday August 31st. Names out soon after. You will have until September 30th to mail your project.

I’d really like to keep this about the project, so I am going to ask that we not send extra goodies. This will help to keep postage down as well as helping us not feel an obligation to shower our partner with gifts. If you feel you must do something extra, how about writing a poem or drawing a picture or sharing a joke or even a recipe? I bet you can think of something!

As soon as names are given, please contact your partner right away.
Please contact me asap if you are having trouble getting in contact.
Please continue to post on the thread throughout the swap. Let everyone know of your progress, post sneak peeks and encourage other swappers. It’s so much fun seeing everyones progress and sharing in our quilting friendship.

I ask that you let me know when you send your project and when you receive from your partner.
Any swapper that does not follow through with their obligation to the swap will be banned from future swaps and will receive negative (swap) feedback.
****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here on the quilting board****

Well, at first I thought "nah, I have lots of potholders", then I thought some more and said "gee, I have some cool ideas that I've never put onto fabric." I'll think on it some more before committing.

There are so many styles and cute fabrics for simple pot holders that you just gotta join.

Just had the question: "Do they have to be the same?"

That is totally up to you!

I have a couple of pot holders that are waiting to be done that are UFOs. Nice thing is they are embroidered so won't have to quilt them and use my left arm. Put on injured list by doc for tennis elbow. Big bummer, he is limiting my quilting activity and I have so many customer quilts, fair exhibits, and show quilts to do.

I will play along on this one.
