If you go in the sporting goods department of Walmart (or any store probably) and get a small plastic box theses little 'bobbin holders' will stand up and you can keep them all together. Have used one for a couple of years and love it. My little box is clear and about 8 inches long and a little more than the width of the bobbin holder so they fit right in it like index cards.

I currently use the rubber band method by attaching to the matching spool but these are great also. You can mark on the foam the type such i.e. poly/cotton %, nylon and so forth.

Wow. Who would have looked at toe separators and seen bobbin holders! Quilters are so inventive and creative thinkers....and thrifty!
