Vertical cellular shades. We did them in a 5 ft wide (not huge - but had sliding doors so you couldn't reach anything in the center) closet. They fold to one side at around 3 inches. Full access to the stuff inside. You can't use them for a design wall though... they are pleated.

I am fond of lightweight curtains for closets. Cover the clutter, and easily are moved completely out of the way for easy access.

I only do this in rooms where the cats aren't allowed, though. Curtains will not keep cats out of closets, and actually seems to attract the fuzzy beggars. ;-)

I meant DH...not HD. Well sometimes he is
I love the idea of the barn doors. They are so popular now. I keep looking around my house hoping to figure out a place to use one. So far, no inspiration.

I would also go for doors - just me!

I would keep the doors on to help keep dust and dirt off of fabric and avoid light. It makes it a lot easier to see with it off but I think I would keep them. I have so much that I have things in front of the door and have to move things to get in the closet. Maybe I need to downsize. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! LOL.

No doors but buy2, 4x8 sheets of foam. cover each separately and use for design wall in front of closet. Very easy to move as needed. Can be cut to size. Mine is 2" thick and stands alone.
