I too have a FQ collection
I am a Scrappy Quilt Lover, so I always have a use for FQs. Until recently I used to be given many by a now deceased friend who loved to buy FQs. And when some piece of fabric gets too small I cut it into a FQ, and into the bin it goes. The drawers are about half and half FQ size and when pieces get cut away from the FQ. My little box of FQs has evolved into this. They fit nicely away in the closet in my sewing room.
And smaller pieces get cut into strips (3 sizes) and squares (4 sizes) so I am ready any time I see a scrappy quilt pattern I want to try.

This appeals to the neat freak in me. Nicely organized. I cut pieces down, too, but not to the extent you do. That really requires discipline. Way to go. I see your largest stash is green and blue, too. Lol!! Must be normal for a quilting stash...

I am not as organized as the FQs make me seem. I didn't show the legal file box full of uncut scraps, waiting to go into the about mentioned different size scrap boxes. Every so often I get the urge to cut from this overflowing box of scrap, when I want to feel like I am accomplishing something in my sewing room.

Your stash looks awesome and organized. Until now I have not had much of a stash but I can see it growing so I may follow your lead on separating by color...before it gets unruly. Thanks for sharing Judy.

If you are ever looking for good fQ pattern. I love the patterns from Pincushion Boutique "sweet treat" fq. They all are easy and use only 8 fat quarters. Example: Looky loo, stairstepper, promises kept and I've been framed.
