Default Gotta love Craigslist! Finally finished!

A couple of years ago I posted an awesome find from Craigslist. WE were going to build a new garage with a "garottage" above for a hobby room (my husband is a wood carver). I found these cabinets to use for storage and finally have them refinished and installed. I LOVE them! The glass in the windows is slightly etched and I placed the cabinets in the corner away from any direct sunlight. I'm toying with possibly creating some "sheer" type curtains as additional protection although the rest of the lighting in the room is LED. Any feedback on whether it will be necessary if there's no direct sunlight?

Thanks for checking out my best find yet.

Beautiful! I think the only thing necessary is to sell one of your Singer Featherweights to ME! It looks off-balance to have 2.......then, I think everything would be PERFECT! ! ! hahahahahahahahaha (actually it is truly perfect as it is). Good for you to have such a nice room and 2 featherweights.........YIKES! ! ! ! ! Is that a WHITE featherweight too! You are blessed!

I adore your cabinets especially the way your FW are so nicely displayed. I had fabric fade from indirect sunlight so I am very gun shy at any light getting to my fabrics.

Add the curtains. I went to a lqs and bought a fabric that was NOT near a window. It only got indirect light and light from the fixtures. As the woman started measuring to cut the fabric, a faded area appeared as the fabric was unwrapped from the bolt - three altogether - at the place where the bolt was exposed to light. Almost a yard of fabric was cut away before the fabric could be measured for the sale.

I would add curtains or paper lining to the windows to protect the fabric. Some fabrics are very resistant to fading from light - some seem to fade in minutes. From my experience, blues seem to be more vulnerable than some other colors. Did not matter if they were light or dark blue.

    Nice set up!

Those cabinets are wonderful! As for covering the fabric-- I can tell you that I have had several wall hangings fade from indirect sunlight that came in through window shades that were made from an off white fabric. The shades were always left in the down position, but they still allowed enough light in to cause fading.
