I ended up just doing a clean out of all the unwanted/un-needed items. It distressed me somewhat to just toss them for the trash pick up, but that feeling didn't last long, as I know did my best to find homes for what I no longer wanted/needed. All the places I checked where either no thanks, a flat out no, or looking only for clothing/winter coats. Not one of them had the desire to even look at what I had, only wanted to know over the phone what it was.
My quilting room is so much better without the weight of the unwanted clutter. Sometimes you just have to take a breath and just let it go.

Although I live in a small, rural area, there are several places I can give donations. I pick and choose depending on what is going. I'm hoping to have a garage sale in the summer, so am sorting items for selling. I guess if I run out of space to store such items, I'll donate them away. Right now my place does not feel much airier.

Check out the groups on Facebook. I use SewItsForSale to sell unwanted fabrics, patterns and tools. They have thousands of members reading your ads and looking at what you have. Buyers pay shipping. Be sure to read the rules in any group you join. I've sold a lot of stuff that way.
