New sewing room
After years of sharing my sewing room with the office, I finally claimed it as my own. I put my stash in tubs because we live in the desert and everything gets very dusty. I organized it by themes. I made the cutting table out of a drafting table I bought at IKEA. I have an ironing board on top of the old chest. I imagine it won't be a week before it is all buried under a mound of fabric.

"was" should have been "we"
Beautiful sewing room arrangement. Like many, my "sewing room" is a corner of a bedroom. About 9 1/2 years ago, I had designated a bedroom as my sewing room. However, we had two grandchildren about to be placed in foster care because of bad decisions by their parents, so we gained custody of them through the court. Giving them a stable environment was far more important than retaining my personal space. After all, children do grow up and leave. They were 7 & 5 when they came to us. They are now 16 & 14.
