Places to sell books and patterns?

I'm moving, too, and I have had a couple of yard sales already but you really don't get anything worth what they are valued. I started giving mine away to quilting friends who I know will cherish them and create wonderful items. The rest I'll take with me because there are guilds where I'm going and perhaps I can trade items etc. I Don't have many so it's not an issue for me like it may be for you, tho.

I sold books through Amazon. If I could not get at least $5.00 I just gave it away. When I did this there were not Facebook groups. You can have some luck grouping them together on Ebay sometimes. They can be shipped Media rate at the PO.

I second the giving to the local library. They sell books to support the library's programs they provide for seniors and kids. At the end of the year, if they are overstocked and the books haven't sold, the books are gathered to one location and they have a sale of five dollars a bag of books. I have found some great quilting books in that sale. If I take them to the thrift shop called assistance league, all of the proceeds go to the many food and assistances they provide for the local needy year round.
On both accounts, I feel that I have done something to help my community.

I give mine to a library near me that has a small used book store in it. What they don't keep, they sell to benefit the library.
I have tried selling on eBay and Half-Priced Books but didn't get enough for the trouble and I'm happier helping the library.
Now, I have bought some great quilting books at Half-Price Books.
