I give up I clean this room over and over and it never stays clean. I give up:)
Let it stay messy and let me sew.
A tour some of my fabric stash in wire baskets, books, patterns and other machines in my closet.
More wireed baskets with my fabric, my green singer sewing machine.
My Bernina sewing machine on my L shape table.
The cutting tablechubby made for me the right height for me and easy to move has rollers and storage space love it:)
Okay back to work in mymessy room.

jollyquilting 09-04-2013 06:08 PM

Your quilting looks exciting and the fruits of working is a little clutter. lol

quiltjoey 09-04-2013 06:11 PM

A messy room is a sign of a genius at work! If mine is neat and clean, it means I haven't been doing anything in it but if it is messy, it shows I have been busy at work!!! I love your L-shaped table. Tables I have looked at are way to expensive or too big or too small or too wobbly. Yours give me an idea to make one. My brother said it would be easy to do...Thanks for sharing and stay messy!!!

BeBe: Maybe we can form a club. Except when we redecorate or change it in some way I would bet 85% of our sewing rooms look like yours, or in my case worse. I've decided not to sweat it. It gets a good clean when a project is finished but if I can find a spot to cut I call it good.
Love the block on your design wall. Is that going to be a whole quilt?

bebe 09-04-2013 06:17 PM

I got my table at a thrift store. It was a cubie work area desk. It had a shelf but I took it off.
love that I can turn around and press as I go along and go back to sewing.
very sturdy the legs are metal.
hope you get your table made soon:)

I am with you on this syndrome .. I admit I am an Oscar! but oh how I would love to be a Felix ! ( remember the odd couple).

bebe 09-04-2013 06:21 PM

Thanks for peeking at my room and not thinking it is a total wreck.
The block on my mini design board is a BOM called Saturday Soiree check out that post I have the blocks posted.
Have fun sewing and making a mess become a master piece!!!

sewplease 09-04-2013 07:28 PM

I don't think it looks messy...I think it looks PERFECT!

peacefulquilting 09-04-2013 07:50 PM

I like your room!! :)

mighty 09-04-2013 07:54 PM

It does not look messy to me. I clean after each project, no keeping it clean while I am working.

I will be making these signs and they will hang in my sewing room . . .

newbee3 09-04-2013 09:02 PM

looks like it is well used

Akweiland 09-04-2013 09:03 PM

It looks like you can find whatever you in need in a short time, you are auditioning fabrics and have many projects going. Not messy at all! I like ufo's, when I get bored with one, on to the next...keeps me wanting to be in my craft room. :)

Gramie bj 09-04-2013 09:04 PM

Can you get to everything in your room without knocking something over?? Can you find everything you need for a project without spending more than 1 hour looking for it?? Do you have the dreaded dust bunnies under control! If you answer YES!, YES! and YES! Your room is not messy, just well used! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! LOL

Love your signs!

Who cares how it looks as long as you can find what you want ad you're happy. My philosophy is, if it bothers someone, don't let them in there, it's your space. That being said my DH refuses to go upstairs in my room. I think he's afraid he'll get lost and never come out

sparkys_mom 09-05-2013 04:27 AM

Looks way neater than mine. :D

Pete 09-05-2013 05:42 AM

Not as messy as mine! My room is so small that I have to move the ironing board to get in and out!

pocoellie 09-05-2013 06:31 AM

I don't think your room is messy. It looks pretty organized to me.

needles3thread 09-05-2013 07:24 AM

I enjoyed seeing your sewing room. thanks

llong0233 09-05-2013 07:49 AM

Hey, Bebe...where is it written that our quilting places have to be neat? Your room is so interesting...I didn't know where to look first and every spot has something different. What a great environment in which to create. If you like it, it inspires you, then enjoy. I know I enjoyed seeing it.

tessagin 09-05-2013 09:01 AM

I don't think your space looks messy at all. You may have a lot of things going on but to me not a mess. Your space doesn't look like a lot but everything looks like it is where it needs to be. When I'm done for the day, I just shut the door. Often my 4 legged dust mop walks in and moves to the door entrance and takes a lot of micro scraps with him. Other than that I may grab the long handled dust mop while I'm sitting down and give the floor a swish. Sometimes not!. No quilt police here! I like your space.:)

justflyingin 09-05-2013 10:18 AM

Looks okay to me--normal, at least if you are doing something. I figure a perfectly clean and organized room means someone just spent hours on it, organizing it, and not "using" it.

fireworkslover 09-05-2013 10:28 AM

I've seen much worse messy rooms on here than yours! Don't worry about it and sew.

QuiltnLady1 09-05-2013 12:24 PM

Hmmm -- I thought if you can see your floor, your room is not messy. Yours looks a whole lot better than miine, but I just got through pulling out half my stash to find fabric for a bunch of I Spy quilts.

AuntieD 09-05-2013 02:27 PM

Your room looks fine to me. I like the doilies hanging up.

Carol34446 09-05-2013 04:01 PM

Love your room and it looks great. As I have 4 sqyare feet most of the time, I would be thrilled with all that room and migh really get something done. So hard with no room to do much work. HD has one room full of HIS stuff, a pool table in living room and it is topped by more of his stuff, and he doesn't do anything with it 99% of time. Enjoy and keep creating.

I dont think I will be posting photos of my "quilting studio" in the corner of my basement any time soon. My area looks messier than yours when I have finished cleaning it. I dream of having shelving and storage that matches and pegboards with hooks. For now I make do with my sewing machine on an old dining room table, my fabric in a bookcase and in a small shelf and the ironing board that I need to move when I use it. But at least its mine and I dont have to pack it all up when I am done sewing for the day

ging10ging 09-05-2013 04:26 PM

I love your pineapple on the wall very pretty. I know how you feel after working I clean up and then go back to work and some days it looks worse than when I started. I don't know how you can work and not have things messed up when working. Don't worry enjoy the sewing and clean it later. Sue

butterflies5518 09-05-2013 05:14 PM

Love the towel bar! What a clever idea. By the way I think your room is wonderful. Perfect!!

IzzysGrammie 09-05-2013 06:25 PM

We are each our own worst critics! Your room is special... I can tell by the objects you have all around. I try to clean between my projects but if I'm to busy feeling all creative and stuff to do it, then I will catch it on the next break...maybe. You just keep on keeping on... a few things out of place will be just fine!

nanacc 09-05-2013 10:13 PM

You call that messy??? I refuse to take pics of mine!! My sewing is all over the house........Living area, guest bedroom, and office/sewing room(and maybe a few tractor parts in there too). My sweet hubby never complains about my main sewing area in a nook of the living area, but if it keeps spreading, he may draw the line! lol

Alexandra 09-06-2013 12:08 AM

It doesn't look that messy. I try to clean up between projects. Or when I lose my last pair of scissors :).

Sideways 09-06-2013 12:37 AM

I like your room. Your L shaped work area is very functional, it says " sit down here and let's sew" lol!!

i especially like the little green vintage sewing machine peaking out behind your beautiful block. Is it a 185k? I just got one, its adorable. :)

fallonquilter 09-06-2013 05:10 AM

A good idea is to put up some shelving on the walls, maybe where the wall hanging is, and get more stuff off surfaces. I also use clear plasitic bins (they keep things dust free but you can still see through them). Another idea is a 3 drawer plastic drawer set under and to the side of your ironing table. You can store stuff in that out of site but convenient. Your room looks comfy and fun and looks like you have a very creative mind.

Mariposa 09-06-2013 05:51 AM

Einstein had a "messy" desk too! :) Your room looks like you are very creative, and busy with projects!

GOSH If our (my daughter and myself) sewing room looked like yours I would be delighted. My daughter has a small internet business and she sews constantly leaving little time for cleaning. She has piles on top of piles. I scold her to no avail. Sometime I don't even enter because the mess has overflowed into my area.

Scraplady 09-06-2013 07:36 AM

Messy is in the eye of the beholder. As long as you can find what you need, have room to function and are inspired to create in your space. It should work for YOU and not somebody else.

Iraxy 09-06-2013 07:55 AM

I love your room. It looks like someone works and watches TV and has fun. Enjoy it as long as you can and don't worry about the chaos. As long as you can work comfortably, just do it.

rslarve 09-06-2013 12:18 PM

Hey--your room looks great to me...what's the problem! As long as you can find what you are looking for! Just keep sewing.
