I pilfered my RV for my sewing table. It was a big square table and not rectangle and it works great. Then I bought a resin table for the RV to replace it. I like to repurpose stuff, too. I'm an antique collector so most of my furniture is used differently then what is was originally designed to be used for. And, I' married to a handyman with a gazillion skills so he can make me anything...and has... Bless his heart. He runs when he hears me say..."Honey?...Could you....."

The only specialty table I have came as a bonus when I bought my Babylock Tiara. I was upgraded from the plastic foldable table to the solid wood table. Otherwise I’d have to say every other piece of furniture is IKEA. I have 3 of the malm desks that hold my computer and printer, brother scan n cut, embroidery machine and the Jan one I use for piecing/sewing. My cutting table is the IKEA stenstorp kitchen island. I can also use this for crafting as there are two stools that fit under the one side of the island.

I've been following this and thinking "Wow, IKEA stuff could be a good idea." I just now stopped and thought about it. The table on which my sewing machine sits: the original kitchen table my husband and I bought from IKEA in 1985. My cutting board sits atop the cabinet/table top combination IKEA was selling as a baby changing table; we purchased that in 1990. And we purchased my chair from IKEA about 4 years ago. Hmm. I guess IKEA stuff really does work for quilting furniture!

Never! I have bought most of my sewing furniture from yard sales and thrift stores--the newest items were tall white bookshelves that wal mart used to sell and I put them together myself. My only true sewing furniture was my cutting table with storage underneath. I have 2 tables for my machines--one my grandpa made with a formica top and the other is a farm table bought from my boss from a showroom we used to have for the company Other items are microwave carts on wheels which hold my books, magazines, steam press, 2 wood file cabinets that hold patterns, a small white 3 drawer chest which has my scissors, and notions, a small buffet that holds my tv, record/cd player (gotta have that Elvis music going), vcr,dvd and cable box --with storage underneath behind doors, a small 2 door video cabinet and some plastic drawers on wheels for various craft items. My most expensive item was the cutting table that was originally $100 at JoAnns and I got it for $50 with a coupon. All the rest were $30 or less. I don't care if they match as long as they are cheap and funcional.

I used to have a small sewing machine and sewed wherever but always ended up having to put away. Since my husband died 18 months ago I have been watching marketplace for stuff. I purchased the Janome 15000 and the brother innovis vq 3000 really cheap with all attachments & goodies. Were brand new. Lady had to sell due to health reasons. She also sold me her koala cutting table and delivered it. I also found a kangaroo dingo cabinet and a Joey for $200 like brand new hardly used. I did purchase a new kangaroo cabinet for my brother. The Janome sits on top of a cabinet I had. I also purchased two new chairs to sit on as the others I had didn’t lift and stay up. I was fixing up my skid shack b4 my hubby died but have since been remodeling my garage as the car is never in it. During winter I would not be able get it out due to large snowbanks out front. I’m retired from both my jobs and used the money I saved while working to do my improvements. As soon as it’s done I will post pics if I can figure out how on the new site. I wouldn’t change what I’ve bought because I deserve the best I can afford for my comfort and sewing.

Since we are talking cabinets I own Horn's but I have such vibration when I run my Pfaff sewing machine. Love the cabinet but would love to get rid of the vibration and suggestions?

For vibration, one suggestion: check that the surface on which the machine is sitting is level.
