From Don-isewman-A slight change in my sewing room
 

I thought about this in my head, over and over. And finally made this change. My rulers, I used, were under a shelf, with a fluroscent light. The rulers sat back under that shelf. I had to always reach under that shelf, and put the rulers back. Under that shelf. You can see what I did. My rulers sat in a ruler stand. And I started another quilt top, also. I wanted to post 2 of the blocks, I've made. TAKECARE everyone. Don[ATTACH=CONFIG]490524[/ATTACH]My rulers under that shelf.[ATTACH=CONFIG]490525[/ATTACH]This is what I did, with my rulers. I have a window, with 4 shelves. Why not put the rulers on the edge of the shelves.[ATTACH=CONFIG]490526[/ATTACH]The ruler holder, that was under that shelf.[ATTACH=CONFIG]490527[/ATTACH]2 blocks made with my new quilt top started. Pattern called "Thorny Crown".

Good idea Don......my rulers hang on a large nail behind the door of my craft room....i always have to removed some to get to the one i want...your idea is better. Love the new quilt - sure it will be another isewmanWinner !!!!

I love your quilt blocks Don. This is a ruler stand my DH has made for a few friends.

[ATTACH=CONFIG]490639[/ATTACH]The way he made it you can attach it to the wall or leave it on the shelf. The rulers will not fall out either way. I love it and so did my friends.

Your quilt in progress will make an awesome quilt. I like your solution to where you can keep your rulers out of the way, but still easily accessible.

Anything to make the job easier makes it more fun. Why don't we do it more often instead of living with little evetydayfrustrations that we have the power to change? Your blocks are lovely!

It is always a good idea to challenge ourselves in ways to make life better. I think we get used to our sewing space and put up with patterns of inefficiency. Beautiful blocks.
