doors on my thinking

I would like the doors on. It would make the room look neater plus protect the thread and fabric from fading.

You will want to cover the fabric you store with something...Maybe a nice sheet...

I took of 2 bi-fold doors from two full closets and had shelves put in them. Then I got some shower curtain rod and made light weight curtains (actually these were twin sheets from thrift store $2.00) for them..It cleans up the look and also protects fabric from light that might fade them.

I would opt for doors - I agree with the reasons given by others here - especially since it would minimize dust, insects, etc and keep out sunlight so that your fabric stays good as new.

l agree with maniac quilter. Keepmthe light away from fabric. Bifolds open nicely if they're installed correctly. They're a pain if not, though. Make sure the track on top is level, and the mounting screw holding the stopper is just right ( easy to adjust if it's not).

Doors on! You will enjoy working in a neater looking place.

I agree. When we repainted out kitchen, Dh wanted to take couple doors off. Nope. Looks like chaos to me when I see uncovered shelves, doors that don't shut that should enclose and protect from elements. Exception would be decorative.

I have a small sewing room/office (9x10) and the closet bifold doors took up way too much room - plus, the corners of the closet were virtually unusable because I couldn't get at them. I took off the doors and I now have so much more room. I don't have a huge stash, so I don't worry about fabric fading, besides the room doesn't get any sunshine. I keep the closet tidy, and I'm the only one who uses my room, so I'd rather have the extra space than the "tidy look." I guess each of us does what works for us.
