Fabric Organization

We are in the middle of wrapping our fabric on comic book and I love it!!! However we are only wrapping 1 yd and up. I was looking for a way to organize our FQs, I found the Clip It Up but it seemed too expensive, I went out to their website and they had them marked way down. I go some to try and am very happy. The rods are about18" and it looks like we are going to be able to get about 50 FQs on each one. I think we are going to get some more and try it with up to 1 yd pieces. These aren't color sorted yet just wanted to get some on there and see how it looked.

What a beautiful solution. Could you give us the link to the website that sells them, please?

That's a great idea - if you have the wall space! I'd have to hang them from my ceiling...hmm...

Here is the link to the website https://clipitup.com/ I am not associated with them just a happy consumer.

I think I read the hint on QB, but just in case I didn't, ...

Some stores use plastic hangers with clamps on either end to hang pants, shorts, etc. The hangers come in different sizes but the clamps are pretty much standard. If you cut or saw the clamps off the hangers, you have some rather nice, strong, largish clamps.

The best part is that quite a number of the stores that use them either send them home with you or KEEP THEM AND RECYCLE THEM. Yesterday I chose the Walmart cart that had one of these hangers in it. When I checked out I asked if I could have it and got the above info. And I also got the cashier's collection of 5 more that customers didn't want! That added up to 12 free clamps. The clerk's comment was that it doesn't matter who does the recycling and if I did it, the hangers get one more use: hanger, clamps, and then recycled.

These look very similar to the towel bars and clips I've purchased at IKEA.

I also saw this in either HSN or QVC, I can't remember which.

Pat - thanks I will try that again in the past our Walmart insisted on keeping hangers but things change.

Kris - I originally looked at Ikea but couldn't find any S hooks with clips. I am going to use Ikea towel racks with S hooks for my rulers! That is this weekend's project.

Thank you for sharing. I'm off to do some ordering myself.

I think you may be a bad influence ;-) I ended up ordering (although I thought shipping was a bit high). Right now, all of my rulers are on individual little nails on a section in my sewing room wall. They are getting crowded and unorganized - they were hung as I got them so shapes and sizes are mixed up now. These will be a great way to hang them all and have the rulers organized. I don't know where I will hang them yet but these hangers give me more options! They will be more organized and handier for sure! Thanks!!
