I wish someone would explain this to those of us who have no clue. It sounds like you are using these foam boards to wrap your stash fabric around. I have never heard of anyone doing this. Would someone consider positing a picture and give us the details of what you are doing. I am getting ready to organize my fabric and this sounds very intersting.

I worry about the acid turning my fabric off colors. HAs that happened to anyone?

Google PolarNotions.com They have videos showing how to use their product. It's a book-sized thin acid-free rigid plastic mini bolt piece that you wrap fabric around.. Have you seen pictures of quilt stashes that have fabric on little bolts lined up on book shelves? That's using this kind of product. Great way to be able to see ALL your fabric at a glance.

Went to Polar Notions I can see they are sort of expensive. Out of my price range anyway. I did look at their bolt buddy clips. Do they look like money clips to anyone else?

I know this sounds bad mentioning ACID but they don't have any ACID in them.This is the type you look for to keep your fabrics like new.
Acid free means it won't harm your fabrics because the boards won't yellow with age. That also means they are PH neutral free of Acid.
They won't get moldy. I have my fabrics in our basement and wrapped on these boards and they are great.
We pay so much for our fabrics that you want them to last and be organized too and the boards are great.

I recently bought 400 comic book boards and love my fabric storage now. I can move the stacks around without the stack getting messy. I can stack vertically in a bookcase and they stay up like books. The fabric now is neat in the totes and easily seen and organized. The boards are reusable since nothing is done to them. If i wanted to have a note of the yardage, I would stick a sticky note in one of the folds or use a 3x5 card with the informtion tucked into a fold.

I even made a presentation at our local guild and got a lot of excitement built around organizing fabric.
