It will be a lot of work but you will enjoy your room a lot. I never even had a room til we moved here but we have a basement with shelves and I don't have a stash, so my room, even though it is a small bedroom, is just lovely - to me. Send us a picture when you get it all organized!!

Can you post the room size, windows and doors? Is there a separate closet area in the room? If you post a few more pics of the other walls, you will get lots of help.

I suggest ruler folding all fabric so it is all the same width. Easy to store and see the different colors or pieces. Plan the work stations according to how you want to sew. Do you need a large iron station or want a small place to i**ron too?

Do you have multiple machines to set up? What furniture is going back in the room?

If you are buying storage boxes, buy a few extra.

Have fun organizing. It is a favorite task for me.

Wow! I am jealous! We need to replace our carpet but doing that is worse than moving. We had the interior of the house painted several years ago and that was daunting. And then everything was placed in the center of the rooms. My parents did replace carpet in one room because it did not flow into the other rooms. It overwhelmed them that they decided since they didn't entertain much anymore not do the large from room.

The room is 11" x 14". It does have a half closet, but I have turned that into my desk and computer area.
I was completely happy with the sewing set up I had in my original room. It worked well for me, so I am going to set that part back up just like it was. I have 4 large cupboards that I used for storage before, but it really wasn't sorted out that well. That is where I can do a lot of organizing I think. I sort of have it planned, but we'll see how it works when I start putting everything back together. I have decided that I will try the ruler folding for the fabric, but I am not sure how that is going to work because I buy all sizes and sorts of fabric. For my quilts I usually buy larger amounts of fabric and I think it will work great for that. For my cloth dolls I buy 1/4 yards mostly, and that includes cottons, & fleece. For my hooded towels I use store bought towels and vinyl. So, I have a large variety of different size/types of fabrics. We'll see how that works. I don't have room for an ironing station, but my laundry room is only 2 rooms away, and I have always used that. It helps me get some exercise.
When I am doing hooded towels and have my embroidery machine all set up, I do use my little Janome sewing machine to close up the hood and sew the towels together. I currently just set that up on my cutting table and probably will continue to do that because I really am limited on space. My machine cabinet is long enough that I can set my serger on the end of it, but I don't use it very often, so I store it underneath the cabinet most of the time.
I really am excited about having everything back together and stored so I know exactly where to go when I need something. It will be wonderful, I hope!
