This is my quilting kingdom as my DH calls it, it is in our bonus room and I have about 1/3 of it I do have to share with our computer and my grandson's play area for video games but I love the part I have. It works well for me and I can walk away when I am done.

Such a cozy sewing area! Lots of wonderful goodies in there too! :)

Tartan 11-12-2011 04:10 PM

It looks wonderful! Any spot that you can leave all your stuff out in and come back to later is great.:)

What a very nice place to share. I have to say I like your wooden sewing basket!

quiltgrammyt2 11-12-2011 06:20 PM

Nice space!!!!!!
Sometimes it's better to share the room with others, gives ya a little company.:)

Grammie Sharon 11-12-2011 06:29 PM

what a nic e area. What kind of machine is hiding in the cabinet we see inthe pic? the cabinet looks like my first machine I had as a young girl

cat65321 11-12-2011 07:00 PM

Love your sewing area. Where did you get the white table your machine is setting on? It looks like there is a drop down for your machine. I would love to find one.

gigi10 11-12-2011 07:20 PM

You know small might be the best and having to share space could be the key to keeping it clean and organized......It could be the best.

bepositive 11-12-2011 07:35 PM

That's a great spot - I love your Quilt Queen sign!

Juliebelle 11-13-2011 04:25 AM

Thanks everyone for you nice words, the wooden sewing basket was from an antique store and given to me by my daughter. The table for the machine is one that I found on the internet and I am sorry I do not remember the name, but if you search for computer tables with drop down area you should be able to find it (the little shelf is adjustable to 3 positions) . The cabinet hold my MIL's old Singer I think it is from the early 60's, still sews great and I do use it when I need an extra machine.

You have a very pretty and comfortable-looking space to call yours! It just looks so comfy and inviting! I know you enjoy it tremendously!

BTW - I have one of those units with the 10 colored drawers. I like it, but the drawers are so aggravating; they do not move smoothly. Do you have that problem with yours? Wish I knew how to solve that little problem!

julybaby8 11-13-2011 06:20 AM

You look very organized and I like your sign :)

Yes they seem to get off the track really easily, I don't have answer either so I just put them back on track when they do that.

Very nice! Looks like a great space!

nhweaver 11-14-2011 12:06 PM

Love the space, compact yet spacious. My area is very small about 12 x 7 in a small attic eave. My design board leans on a dresser on the other end

SuzyQ 11-14-2011 01:17 PM

I really like your room. Is your machine table custom made?

No, it is a computer table that we bought on line the shelf is adjustable to 3 positions I think it is a SafeCo I have had it a while so I do not have the link anymore. Pretty reasonable price about 140.00 when I got it about 2 years ago/

SherryW 11-14-2011 03:10 PM

That's a nice and bright area.:)

marla 11-14-2011 03:42 PM

Nice BRIGHT space and the best part like you said is that you can just walk away when you done for the day.

I see you have an angled wall in the second picture which reminded me of seeing shelves in the IKEA book that will work on that type of wall. They were really neat. The important part of getting the most space out of a small area (and big area too I suppose) is to GO UP on your organizing. There's some empty wall space in the last photo. :)

I have an expandable sewing box just like yours. a friend of mine found it in his alley and gave it to me years ago. Was a mess, but cleaned up very nicely.

So organized................

CAS49OR 11-15-2011 03:20 PM

I really like your corner! What brand or type of sewing table is that, and where did you buy it? It looks adjustable and perfect for larger quilts with room behind it for support.

ShellLady65 11-15-2011 03:54 PM

What a wonderful place to create. You have also given me a great idea for storing some of my fabric. I'm new at quilting. That makes me CONFUSED to say the least especially concerning where my material is...true, they are in see through containers yet I cannot see them...I LOVE your wire basket towers and wonder if you might share how well the fabric holds up to dust???? I have several plastic towers I use for my beads and other crafts but they are enclosed drawers...Again, not able to view the material as easily as I can in your photo...thank you for any ideas you may want to share as I begin a new adventure OR jump ship....hahaha ShellLady65

Love your sewing room. Is that a computer table you have your sewing machine on? I like that and would love to get one like it, where did you get it?

Kathy Osterby 11-16-2011 07:10 AM
