Wow, tons of room. Love it, love it. Mine is not nearly that big. I converted my 2 extra bedrooms into a sewing room & the 2nd into my cutting room. Hubby just finished making me 2 table tops (forming an L shape) in my sewing room with 2 recesses for my Juki 98Q & for my Bernina 820. My Babylock sits between them in the corner. My "new" vintage Singer 128 sits on a shelf above the table tops. One side has drawers for storage & I have 2 cupboards for other storage & a big double closet. One of these days I will post pics on here. It's not completely finished yet though.

Great quilting space

Love your area. Lots of useful space. If you find you cutting table is too low for your back, just cut 4 pvc pipe to place on the legs to lift the table to a higher height.

LoriMcc 02-15-2012 04:34 AM

Congratulations on your own space! I think you will love it! You have lots of room with good storage, plus it looks as if you can shut the door if you need to!! :) Enjoy!!!!

Looking good!! You'll be so happy in "your space" that your family may never see you unless they come to your sewing room. LOL!!

My ironing board was taking up too much space in my bedroom/sewing room so I found one at Wal-Mart that hangs on the door and folds flat when not in use. It hangs like the over door hangers for clothes etc. No trouble with the door closing either-best thing I've invested in for my sewing room.

Marilyn Philips 02-15-2012 12:46 PM

You have a wonderful space to create your quilts. It seems to go so much better when your space is organized-at least it does for me. Great job!

Pickles 02-15-2012 11:14 PM

Your so lucky , it's a grand place to sew, thanks for showing us, have lots of fun :)

nstitchs 02-16-2012 02:52 AM

Nice and roomy! If your looking at flooring I suggest the square tiles, thats what I have and mine have a design going half way across in each direction. The tiles are 12" and then half way is the 6" so it is quick and easy to measure out a quilt top by laying it on the floor. I also tape my backing to the floor with painters tape (easy to remove) and baste my quilts together that way. Just a suggestion, but either way, enjoy your new space. I have my whole basement and would not have it anywhere else.

cousinpenny 02-16-2012 03:41 AM

Don't forget to add a design wall. You've got plenty of great space to show off you completed projects.

Painiacs 02-16-2012 03:51 AM

Looks beautiful! I am so happy you have your own room! I am working on mine using a very small bedroom with sloping ceilings.
