My sewing haven
6 Attachment(s)
We moved and I got a sewing haven from a screened in back porch. Husband worked hard and I almost got the room of my dreams. Still don't have enough room for all my stash but am working on a fabric destash by sewing what I have. Enjoy my tour.

Looks very inviting to me. Enjoy! :)
Great space.
I would be using some of that fabric to make a dress to give the naked doll in the next to last photo a little dignity. hehehehe |
Nice room! My hubby bought me an American Girl doll so I can play with my granddaughters...lol.
Does your music box play "Buttons and Bows?" I have one just like it except the spool has been broken off and lost.

*** I love the little sewing machine on the shelf above the naked doll. *** |
I'm thinking you are going to spend a lot of hours creating in that room!
Wow, what a great room. :) You should have a really nice time creating there. You have some great organization going. Very nice.
Great place, enjoy!
I really like the curtains and them embroidery on them.

Nice! A wonderful space to create. Luann
Simply wonderful! You and hubby did an amazing job! I know you will enjoy.
Your beautiful cottage curtains were the first thing that caught my eye. I have muslin curtains on my 3 small windows and was trying to find a way to "dress" them up...may I use your idea? I also love your ribbon rod....and your stash shelves...just love everything. Wishing you many years of happy creating!
looks perfect I am also working on getting some of my stash gone I know I have fabric that I probably will not use so that stuff is what I am working on to eliminate. I have gotten a lot of stuff out of here already and will keep working on it till I am satisfied
What a great room, many fun hours will be spent there I'm sure
Great room. Enjoy creating!
Your room looks fun escape/hideaway. I agree your little doll needs to be clothed. You have enough to do that? LOl!
Great space, enjoy sewing there.
I really like your new room. I have been sorting & trying to find all that is in my stash today.
Was at Joann's yesterday, we were taking about my sewing room. She gave it the name, "Happy Room" I like that name for yours as well. Enjoy & be happy in it. |
Looks like a quilt store with all that material..lucky u..my sewing room is so small..6x12 maybe..it was a front porch..again lucky u
Very nice - thanks for sharing.
The word that pops to mind is "welcoming" It looks like a great place to spend time and create. Funny the things that catch the eye. Love your dressmakers picture, has such a lovely feel about it. Then there are those lovely crisp curtains and your mad quilter wall hanging. It's all very, very well done.
My very first thought also: AGD is Naked. Did you move her like that?!
where are you, I'll be right over to dress her. Beautiful room |
Nice organized room .. Mine isn't organized but I sure enjoy sewing in it (well I do know where things are and are planning to spend time in there organizing it so I can mess it up again. I think I will do this 4 times a year ! LOL)
Nice work space....you have encouraged me to scale down my stash...donating to my local guild!
Love your new room, it looks so cozy, inviting and good for inspiration! Congratulations!!
Looks great to me. I have to get my stash organized like yours. I like the bookshelf idea, but it gets dusty here, so I really want cabinets (preferably with glass doors) to keep my stash cleaner. Right now, my stash is in clear tubs and loose in bags.
Very nice. You have a lot of stash!
Thanks for all the lovely comments. Sorry about the AGD but she is my model. I made bunches of clothes for Christmas presents and have sold a few so don't have anything sewn up to put on her right now. I am in the process of cutting out now.
The rolls on the side of my cutting table are stabilizer for my embroidery machines. One side is cut away, the other tear away. Comes in very handy. |
Beautiful room....many a women's dream...Congrats and may you enjoy many wonderful hours making and creating beautiful memories.
Is that a "Paula Vaughn" on the wall? We love her work.
Ket, just how do you have the stabilizer attached to the front of the table? It looks like a great system, and yes, I love your room.
Such a great room for creativity!! Love your Diva on the wall too! :)
Great space....
Yes I have two large Paula Vaughns and one small one. Love her work too.
My husband put a flex strap from lowes on a small section of 2x4 mounted under the table and the rod is just a shower curtain rod. I roll my stabilizer on paper towel rolls. Works great. |
Really enjoyed the Art on your walls, it added to everything else ...have fun and enjoy your wonderful room :)

K. back to sorting magazines. Did cutting last night for scrapy quilt. 2015 the year of organization? |
