My Sewing Room/Office!
 

Hi everyone!

My name is Chelsey, and I'm a newbie on the forum. While I've dabbled in quilts previously, 99.9% of my sewing is for my online business, where I make hammocks/beds/cage liners for a small animals such as rats, ferrets, chinchillas, guinea pigs, etc. In the past year though, I converted a friend of mine from a knitter into a sewer, and she is absolutely quilt crazy! It's been fueling my urge to get more into making quilts (if only for myself, since I seriously can never find a bedspread/bed set I like).

All that aside, a couple weeks ago, I moved all of my sewing stuff into the finished basement room. Huge project with lots of organizing (which is my favorite thing ever), and it's all finished now! Well, besides maybe some cute wall art here and there... :) The pictures show the main part of the room with all of my sewing stuff, my computer, and the closet where I store excess fleece and mailing supplies. The other side of the room has a loveseat and coffee table. No pictures of that, since it's not very exciting!

I've cut/sewn a few orders in here finally, but it took me a while! The first week after it was finished, I couldn't bring myself to do anything in here, besides show it off to friends/neighbors, lol!

Welcome aboard! I love, love, love the towel bar ideas! What are the bars though? Look too thin for actual towel bars.

Wonderful! I love a bright sewing room. White furnishings make all the difference too. So many rooms are dark with dark wood furniture. I know if my sewing room is pretty it's easier to keep tidy.

Fabulous!!! You have done a great job creating a wonderful space to create. I was wondering the same things as Camille, about the hanging cups/buckets. That is such a neat idea. I would like to add some to my sewing room.

That looks like a fun room to work in. I love the colors on the walls, and the fact that it is so easy to get around in. And what a terrific way to display your vintage machines!

nice metal shelves. We are moving across country and I had to get rid of all my bookcases. These look like they would come apart for a move. Where did your get them?

Welcome! You did a great job organizing and furnishing your new space. I love working in a clean space where I can find everything. That is what I am doing now..........reorganizing after a rash of sewing projects. Next order of business is to organize my scraps by color and size.

Do you own ferrets or just sew for them? I've always thought they are totally cool little animals....

What a great room! Nice and neat...just like mine! I love your vintage machines. I just got a Kenmore like yours. I bought it because it is just like my first machine that I bought in 1972.
