That is an incredible space! Neat and organized with wonderful colors to inspire you everywhere. A place where one would truly want to spend time.

That's a glorious space! Truly looks like a quilt shop. How many hours a week, on average, do you estimate you spend sewing and quilting?

Zozee, I try to get down here daily and work anywhere between 4-8 hrs. Sometimes I'll have a couple machines going at one time as my quilting machine has robotics and then of course the embroidery machine does for the embroidery part of it. Then I can work on something at the cutting table. Of course today wasn't one of those days as my guy that's putting on new siding to the back garage started today so I needed to go out and finish removing the rest of the fence between the 2 garages. That took most of the day between removing and piling it all up at the front of the house. Then I helped him with getting the new fascia boards up. Thankfully we were having a nice day here.

You have a wonderful place to sew. Everything seems so well thought out. I love your design wall. Nice fabric organization, too.

What a fantastic improvement...you must be thrilled with the way it turned out.

Jmoore, I'm more than thrilled to finally get this reorganization done. I now feel like staying down here all day long. Sometimes just to look at all those colors of fabrics up on the shelves. Its easier to find what I'm looking for too.

ctrysass2012, when deciding how I wanted my basement sewing room arranged I had replaced my kitchen sink/faucet with a new one so the old one came down here. Had the guys add a countertop in the bay window area as the drain just happened to be right there too. So the plumber added the water piping up around the rafters over to the new/old sink putting the sink to one end giving me a nice area to lay things. When I starch my fabrics I hang them up over the sink using skirt hangers on a large dowel rod. Got a rolling cart from my mother for the small coffee pot and microwave, added a cabinet above for spare dishes and silverware. Had to find a spot for the old fridge and new freezer too so its in the same general spot. Also have a full bathroom down here so yes, sometimes I spend the entire day down here till its time to make dinner for me and my buddy, Pepper (kitty). If I had room for a recliner I'd probably never leave.

Also, the library is done now too. Just need to rearrange within the authors is all.

Do you keep an inventory of your books? so you don't buy duplicates. Do you keep them by authors and subjects? In store or mostly online?
