Very nice space

OH MY STARS! Just beautiful! You will get so much done! I have so much fabric and no good way to store it except in plastic tubs and have been known to go out and buy something I already had! AARGH! I am so happy for your new space and I am sure Aunti is too! :0)

You have a great space and I can see you sewing at the window and enjoying it all - You did good!!I wish I had a space like that -

Be sure that even the indirect sunlight doesn't fade the fabrics. It happened to me and I was totally surprised.

Inspiring is what I call this. Great work/pressing/cutting table. My daughter wants to take my current table and chairs to her new apartment in April. I plan to get started on making one of these soon!

I'm sorry for your loss. I think that you are blessed to have such a nice stash! It looks incredible. I think the whole area looks wonderful. Have fun!!

that's fantastic... I'm absolutely stealing the closetmaid cubby idea!!!

jeanne49 02-21-2015 01:45 PM

That is a great sewing/crafting room. How lucky you are to have those shelves, and you organized everything so beautifully.

wolph33 02-26-2015 03:07 PM

wow,amazing space.lucky you.

I'm thinking you could rig the design wall/curtain like a Roman Shade with the small rings and cords on the backside, then pull that up when you need to get to the fabric behind it. I've looked at a few books on organizing a craft or sewing room, and none of them look as good and well planned as what you have done. My congratulations on having such a thoughtful and caring aunt.

What a wonderful awesome space!

What excellent storage you have, not only that looks like you have an escape room also, where it's quiet and peaceful. I do have a big bedroom upstairs I'd love to turn into a sewing-crafty-quilting room but my hubby says no. 1 yr ago I broke my pelvis and still have may problems with balance. There is a nice hand rail to use, but guess it'll be a no go. lol.

Nice setup. You have your very own "fabric store" at your finger tips.

Wonderful use of space and very appealing to the eye too. Good job.

Quiltngolfer 05-17-2015 10:47 AM

It looks like you did a great job of organizing a lot of good stuff. Now you can enjoy making beautiful quilts out of it. Have fun!

I too have that problem...no one else in this family is at all interested in all the quilting fabric and goodies nor the 12 sewing machines (blush) - I have told all my family that upon my departure to please take all of fabric, thread, etc to my local Project Linus group, so that the fabric will continue to be used for the kids quilts....as for the sewing machines, I hope my hubby or kids will just list them on ebay for some other lucky quilter to find and love.....that feels right to me, to give the fabric and etc to Project Linus where I do a lot of giving and I know it will be used and appreciated.

What a great sewing quilting space! I am sorry for your loss, but, very happy she had a willing recipient to will her treasures to. That must have been a comfort to her at least. I don't know what will happen to my stash if anything should happen to me. No one sews or quilts in my family. :~(
