I placed a magnetic bar on the wall within arm's reach and that is where seam ripper, thimble, needles, scissors, etc. Whatever is magnetic sticks to it and it is sooooo wonderful

I will check this out, thank you |
Oh thank you Rhonda for your ideas, I will definitely look into them . Thanks so much

Oh gosh, I never thought about labeling them . I think that might work also
I do do this, but think I have to many..
i use plastic pencils boxes... so far, I have one for, sewing needles, machine needles, rotary tools, marking tools, bobbins. Easy to label, they stack nicely and best of all??? CHEAP!
I use pencil boxes too. One holds the attachments to my small Janome machine that I take to SitNSews...a small scissors, spool of thread, seam ripper, etc all fit in it as well. I also use them for collections of sewn mini HST's..tape a label on them and I know what's size is in them. And yes scrappingfaye58 they stack so well! Also picked up a bigger style (about the size of two pencil boxes) for .50 this fall for larger pieces I use in my mini quilts.

I have a set of drawers in the cabinet that holds my machine. I bought a couple of plastic silverware drawer organizers, and keep things in the partitions
I use the drawer organizers from the office supply store for a lot of my smalls. I also have a vertical basket with dividers that I think was for pencils and office stuff that I keep marking pencils, gauges, glue sticks and other stuff in. I got it at a garage sale for a quarter.
