Sewing room complete with all the new covers
5 Attachment(s)
I had a lot of requests to see my sewing room with all the new covers I'd made.
My Bernina 740 is on the far right, next to the wallhanging. Next machine over is my Benin 430 with the embroidery module. To the far left is my Bernina 630. The room is 12 x 9 feet. The 12 foot wall is one continuous cabinet/counter spaced 38 inches deep, with both cabinets having a quilting extension. On the adjoining 9 foot wall, I have bookshelves running the length, and my two free arm Singer Featherweights are up there with my books. Below is my Bernina serger, my Babylock coverstitch machine, and to the very far left is my vintage Bernina 830 record. I use every available inch of this room! In the adjoining bedroom, I have it set up as my office/cutting room area. Not much to look at, but it works :) |
Very nicely done. I really like the pull out drawer that is on the left side at your sewing machine. That is such good support for a quilt while quilting.
that is so nicely done

Beautiful!
Love the space, color coordination.
BEAUTIFUL, CJ! Your Organization is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing.

cj i love this room & i love the organization. as for "not much to look at" i think you err on side of politeness :)). my last sewing. room was small also, a 9 x 11' room w large walk in closet in 1870‘s farm house. thirteen inch deep shelves floor to cieling on three walls for clothing & quilt fabric, books etc, 3x8' cutting table in center of floor & design wall on end of wall of room. large walk-in closet was overflow storage of batts, yarn etc. i joked with friends that it was my weight control room. if i gained any weight i wouldn't fit! not much to look at but heaven to me & it worked perfectly for the years i lived there. will you post your video on your web page w link? |
Beautiful! Clean, organized - perfect!!
You've really utilized your space well, and coordinated covers to the quilt on the wall to boot! It's really a wonderful space. Love the quilt on the wall as well as the one in your avatar.
I love it!
Fabulous work (play) space!
I love all your covers...and I see your bionic gear bag there!
Thank you ladies. I fought with this room for quite some time... we've been in this house for 7 years now, but I'm finally happy with the space and it works for me :)
wow....wow....wow!!!!
I love your room, all of your tools, and machines! Also love the colors and designs of your different machine covers. What fabric line are they?

I wish had that kind of room!
Lovely sewing room.
So very neat and organized! Love all your matching covers and wall quilt! Now get in there and make a mess! LOL!
Love it! Very nice & handy. My sewing room is so small 9'x9' that I can't do too much in there. I sew in there & store all my stash on wall shelves. I cut on my kitchen island. I have my mid arm that I quilt on in the breezeway. Just scattered all over! lol Wish I had one big room for everything but I don't & I'm happy!
Love the set ups! I see you use metal holder for peg board which I need to do as my wooden dowels don't quite hold rulers, etc safely in place.
Wait a minute, I see one pic where there is no sewing machine in view... That needs to BE FIXED!. You need just one more machine for eye candy. Or two...
This is very neatly and nicely done. If I didn't have my moms old table to sew on, I would want individual stations for each of my machines. Love this concept.

OMG such tidiness. My sewing room never ever looks so neat. I am getting ready to move and trying to get ideas in my head about setting up when I get there. I hadn't really thought of covers, but yours look so nice, I may give that a go. I will be building a shop that will serve as an equipment barn and teaching studio, so keep all the wonderful ideas coming. I need all the help I can get.
Thank you for taking the time to repost with just pictures... your room is wonderful as are all your projects!

I keep my machines covered because the plastic housing yellows over time when left exposed, and gets quite unsightly. Plus, the dust is hard on electronics. So if I'm going to cover them, I figured I might as well make them pretty :) |
Fantastic organization.
ITS beautiful. so organized and colorful. You have done a wonderful job. congrats
I love it - so organized and neat! And the quilt on the wall is beautiful!
You certainly have utilized every inch in that room and it looks wonderful. So organized and efficient.
Looking at your beautiful and organized sewing room, I wonder if there is any hope for me to become an organized person. My parents were organized. I don't know what happened to me.
Thanks for sharing your sewing room. I have bookmarked your sewing room. |
Wow, you are "set" for a great play time! Your covers are so pretty.

Nice! Wish I could get and keep mine that organized! Beautiful room so happy for you!
love the detailed color wheel hanging on the door. we so often forget that!
What a beautiful room- I'm drooling here!!
I read your response to the fabric line, but what pattern did you use for your sewing machine covers? I love all the details/ ruffles/ect. I sew in the corner of my dining room (well, great room:) ) and need to make something pretty to cover my machine. |
Can you explain your pull out drawer? Does the top fold down when drawer is pushed in? I like the idea. Phyllis
Nice room. I wish mine was that well organized.
